We kayak all year round as the area is breathtakingly beautiful, quietly serene and teaming with abundance. The air is a bit nippier so we suggest people layer up with cozy sweaters and warm socks to go in their boots. We provide rubber boots to keep your feet warm and dry, paddling gear for the rainy days, drybags for all your stuff and poggies which let you paddle and keep your hands happy. All you need is some warm layer, good snack, water bottle and an adventuresome spir...it to get outside and experience nature. Fall is when the salmon return to their creeks and the wildlife follows. The changing weather patterns bring beautiful light to the islands and the nip in the air makes for a refreshing and invigorating time out paddling and exploring the area. Winter is glorious as the ocean is so clear and everything is quiet in the stillness of the season, the mountain tops are ladden with snow and wearing a toque well paddling keeps the head warm in the chilly air. Join us for one of Tofino's best kept secrets by exploring the area when all the crowds have disappeared and you can experience the true wildness of the area by kayak.

OCTOBER HOURS The Kayak Store and Harbourview Coffee Lounge are open Wednesday - Sunday 9am-5pm. The store will be closed Mondays & Tuesdays... We are running daily sea kayaking tours throughout the fall. You can book during store hours or anytime online. Kayak Tours booked on Monday and Tuesdays can meet at the kayak store 15min prior to trip to the start of the trip to get you ready for your tour.

Sea Kayaking is really a great way to have fun out in the fresh air while exploring the area and keeping a distance. Paddling to close could results in bumping or bonking someone with a paddle so social distance is naturally a good idea

Debris in these wild pristing areas is becoming such an issue. Even in Clayoquot Sound we are not wanting to take people to areas that used to be pristine as there is so much float house debris they are looking like junkyard bays. People dont go to these areas except kayakers, so left to us to clean them up as seems people want to use the areas but not be responsible for what is left behind.

We were very proud to participate in the Flotilla for Salmon yesterday, hosted by the Nuuchahnulth Salmon Alliance. It was a great turn out with over 100 people in kayaks, motor boats, SUPs and even traditional canoes. A great show of solidarity for the future of our salmon. Officially fall has hit bringing a good ol' solstice storm with full on lightening and thunder. We are now in the calm after the store and offering kayak tours daily. We still have spaces Friday from 3pm - 6pm for our Harbour Islands tour. No experience necessary.
