Well today is the day we would be congratulating you all on a job well done this summer. Those who would have went away for summer training (2nd 3 week intake and 6 week courses) this would be your graduation day. Some of you would be participating in the Final Ceremony of the Flags tonight follwoing the graduation parade. It would have been breathtaking, and everyone would have been in awe of the amazing performance you and your team put together in such a short time. Many o...f you would be packed up and ready to go home with your parents tonight after the celebrations. Saying so long to the friends you may not see for another 10 months and wishing everyone a great training year. But you know what, we are still going to say Bravo Zulu to all our cadets. You have made it through a challenging past 5 months. You had to go from seeing your friends every day in school, meeting up with your fellow cadets during the week, and enjoying just being a teenager, to virtual learning, virtual cadets and for some virtual Summer Training. We can not wait to hear all that you have learned over the summer. We are slowly coming out on the the other end. Together we are learning to live in a Covid world. Sure we will still have challenges, but we will always have challenges in life, it is what makes it exciting. Sure School and Cadets may look a little different than it did when we last gathered in March, but that's ok, we will still continue to gather and grow. We will welcome new cadets, we will sadly say so long to some who will be leaving us, and we will get to see old friends. We will embrace any new changes and face any challenges that we are given, with strength, leadership and determination. We are still waiting to hear further direction from Ottawa on what this fall will look like for the cadet movement. Decisions will be made with the health and safety of the cadets, staff and families taken into consideration. We are expecting those directions to come out soon, and we will be sure to keep you all in the loop. Bravo Zulu everyone, you're doing an amazing job. See you all Soon!

Today marks the 75th anniversary of when The Battle of The Atlantic came to an end. It was the longest continuous military engagement of World War II. Over 4,600 Canadians lost their lives at sea and today we honour those who have fought as well as those who are currently fighting to keep our canadian families safe. To honour them, our naval communities will come together to commemorate our heroes and remember those who’s lives were lost, by watching the service that the Royal Canadian Navy is hosting on their Facebook page, details below. Canada remembers them, as they hold a special place in all our hearts. #lestweforget #wewillrememberthem

I woke up this morning to the devastating news that this fabulous piper Abigail Cowbrough was lost yesterday in the helicopter crash off the coast of Greece. I... have attending many ACR's over the years, but this performance brought tears to my eyes when they performed it years ago, and did again this morning. Rest in Peace Abigail, you will be missed. In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, all cadet units have seized all in person training and activities to keep our cadets, families and community healthy and safe. That do not mean we cannot engage in activities together online. For the past month we have challenged our cadets in a variety of ways. Challenges thus far have included, a boot shining challenge, a craft challenge and creating a knot board. Challenges are not mandatory, as our cadets get to pick which challenges they wish to participate in. Prizes are awarded weekly to three lucky participants, who will receive their gift cards at a later date.

Today we honor those who’s lives were taken too soon on April 19th, 2020. Friends, coworkers, neighbours, siblings, fathers and mothers were all victims of this devastating act of violence. Our thoughts and prayers go towards the families of the victims and those who have been affected. We continue to stay united through our community even during this time of social distancing. Nova Scotia has been extremely saddened by this horrible act but we will not be shaped by this, together we remember and mourn for the victimes’ families. #novascotiastrong #weremember

Good Day 339 Iroquois, please see below for information regarding cadet activities in the coming weeks. In response to developments in the outbreak of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the National Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Support Group has CANCELLED ALL CADET ACTIVITIES, including local training, for three weeks effective immediately. Prior to Friday, April 03, 2020, further direction will be provided, including the potential for this cancellation to be extended. The ...National Cadet and Junior Canadian Rangers Support Group has been directed to adopt an aggressive posture to minimize personnel risk of exposure and to prevent the CAF and cadets from becoming a transmission vector. The safety and welfare of all who participate in our programs is always our top priority, as such we take very seriously our responsibility to protect cadets from any real or apparent health or safety concern. The Support Group is collaborating with Department of National Defence and CAF as well as with other federal departments in order to maintain proper situational awareness on the COVID-19 situation in Canada and globally to synchronize interdepartmental response under the lead of Health Canada and the Public Health Agency of Canada. As a result, the situation is continuously being monitored and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.
