When I fight I will fight on my knees With my hands lifted high Oh God the battle belongs to you... https://youtu.be/johgSkNj3-A

There’s an end goal. A finish line. And a right way to complete this life. Do your best, my fellow workers. Remind them of these things, and charge them before God not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:1415, ESV).

If the LORD were watching your daily activities (He is), from the rising of your day to it's setting - who would He conclude that you worship?

You are a people holy to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. - Deuteronomy 14:2

The summer of #scatteredtogether has been absolutely insane. I could give you all the reasons of why, however, bottom line is that I have crowded out my time with the Lord by doing things for the Lord. That is not a good place to be. You shall walk after the Lord your God and fear him and keep his commandments and obey his voice, and you shall serve him and hold fast to him. Deuteronomy 13:4... Hold fast to the LORD. Seriously, HOLD FAST to the LORD!

Sharing this because It is absolutely true. Let’s change the perspective.

Do you ever have those times when you sense such a profound love for a person or people though you don’t even know them? It is a kind of love that seems to come out of nowhere and it almost brings you to your knees? This weekend I hosted a bridal party, including a bride, at my Airbnb. I had never met these people before and God knows if I’ll ever meet them again. I was overwhelmed by a sense of love for these ladies even before they arrived. I knew nothing about them then... and not much more about them now. But my heart feels like it could just burst. I can’t stop praying for them. As I pondered this, I couldn’t help but think that the love I felt for them is Only a fraction of the love that God has for them. I believe God Gave me such an extreme privilege to experience that kind of love for the women I did not know - because of His passionate love for each one of those girls. What if we all had that experience, regularly? For those in the world who desperately need to know our God loves them passionately. I can’t help but wonder. And I can’t help but pray for more experiences like that for you and for me. A #scattered and #tornworld #gathered #together by God’s amazing love.

How can I pray for you today?

Donna Lowe 01.07.2020

Please take a moment to drink this in. Meditate on it today. My prayer for your heart is that you will truly come to an understanding of how profound this is and how privileged you are. These words were spoken to Israel, and it’s still true for them today. It is also equally true for every Christian on the face of this earth, those who were, those who are, and those who are yet to come. 1 Peter 2:9. ... For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possessions, out of all the people who are on the face of the earth. - Deuteronomy 7:6 See more

I had an awesome time of devotion and prayer with some amazing sisters, last night. We talked about waiting on the Lord. The startling revelation, though it shouldn’t be so startling, Is that by waiting on the Lord we are spared from instant and delayed grief. By waiting on the Lord, The time he gives us will enable us to see more clearly that which we could never have anticipated. The blessing in the waiting is that we learn to trust our Almighty God so much more. With t...hat trust, we have more peace. And isn’t peace what our souls crave most of all? Don’t rush ahead of God. wait upon the Lord and You will be glad you did.

God speaking to Moses when all of Israel was afraid to drawn near and hear the voice of the Lord, lest they should die.... Oh but they that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, that it might go well with them and with their descendants forever! Has His church, like Israel, Also lost the fear of the Lord? Has it not gone well for us because we have ignored/or disobeyed him?

In Deuteronomy 4, God reminds Israel that obedience is required. We know that’s what God requires of us too. However, did you ever think about the far reaching implications of your obedience to His all sufficient Word? Not only does God promise personal blessings of long life, prosperity and strength, and peace, OH THE PEACE there is in obedience!!! But just as mind-blowing is that our obedience in holding fast to His Word has a missiological impact. ... Read Deuteronomy 4:2-8. When people hear the wisdom we speak (Scripture) and see how it actually works in our lives, they will say...surely this great nation (a Holy nation) is a wise and understanding people. Deuteronomy 4:6 For what great nation is there that has a God so near to it as the Lord our God is to us, whenever we call upon him? And what great nation is there that has statutes and rules so righteous as all the law that I said before you today? Deuteronomy 4:7&8 #loveHisword #savesouls #obeyhiscommands

Ever heard a little one praise God? There’s nothing sweeter! Nothing! I’ve heard many adult’s powerful prayers to bind the enemy, but the simple praise of a ch...ild is more effective! Parents, teach your kids to praise God because God created them for that very purpose. And out of their mouths the praise of those little ones literally silences the enemy. One of those mind blowing verses: Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. Psalm 8:2

I am reading through Deuteronomy right now. The beginning of the book takes a glance backwards at Israel‘s past. Moses recounts Israel’s failures (there were a few, as well as the Lord‘s grace and mercy (which overwhelmingly overshadowed Israel’s failures) toward them. In chapter 4 there’s a transition. Moses begins to look forward to the Israelites future, which includes taking possession of the promised land. The words #listen, #heed, and #obey, Are repeated, with moti...ve for their behavior. While there definitely Will be battles to fight, the land they are being given hinges on Israel’s obedience. They will not conquer and possess if they do not follow the Lords instructions. Israel’s behavior, of course, is not the end goal for the Lord. In Chapter 4:9, the Lord gives Israel this warning: Only take care, and keep your soul diligently... Of all the things that Israel was about to possess, the Lord wanted to make sure their souls would find their True desire and absolute delight in Him! Are you (and am I) taking care to diligently guard our souls? There is nothing on this Earth quite so important as hey soul that looks forward to possessing eternity with God. 4:15 Therefore watchers self very carefully.

Peace: Often used to describe the absence of war. War: a state of conflict (think internally). And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which you were called in one body. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15.... Christ does not simply possess peace, He is peace. In His presence there is a strong sense of assurance, a mental state of well-being. Peace is the very essence of Jesus. It’s who He is. He is the Prince of Peace. When we are close to Christ, His peace envelopes us and drowns out the world, along with all it’s troubles. That’s why Jesus said, in this world you will have trouble...but in me you will have peace. Apart from Jesus, you will never find the peace your soul craves.

Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore He exalts Himself to show mercy to you. - Isaiah 30:18 All throughout the OT, Israel continually turned their backs on the LORD. They rebelled against the very boundaries that He put in place for their own protection -- for their very ultimate good. They 'hated' what God had to say. Frequently, God gave them direction. And just as often, they decided they knew better what would make them happy. Only their choices... drove them deeper into trouble, regret and shame. But this: the LORD was patient. He waited for them to come to the end of themselves. And when they had exhausted every means of self-fulfillment, finding their hearts emptier that before, the Lord was ready. How 'bout you? Have you come to the end of your self-fulfilling search? Have you tried to fill the void in your heart your own way? Are you just as empty now, and maybe even more? God showed the Israelites grace for their rebellion. He exalted Himself only to reveal His mercy. And He drew them back to Himself in loving kindness. He longs for your return.

Leviticus 26:2 You shall keep my Sabbaths and reverence my sanctuary: I am the LORD. How often do we work like dogs to build the perfect life? To the that point, we forget/neglect the perfect rest we find in spending time with Jesus. We miss out on the abundant life, our true soul’s satisfaction, which comes from serving God through His church. And since we are never able to find the life we so crave, we doubt God more.... If only we would be faithful to the Word of God, then blessings of abundance would be ours. God will make us fruitful and multiply us. He broke down the bars of our imprisonment, delivered us from Egypt, and gave us back our dignity. Leviticus 26:3-13 (my paraphrase) Let’s walk in that! Amen?
