What might you learn at this year's conference? Maybe you've already determined (as yourself or as a church) that you want to engage somehow in caring for vulnerable children and families, but you're just not sure how. There will be a number of breakouts that will give you ideas and resources to begin intentional engagement: 101 - Adoption 101 & 201 - "Fostering 101" - learn how you can adopt or foster or support those on the adoption or foster care journey.... 103 - Safe Families - learn how churches can collaborate in a community to support families at risk of family breakdown, keep children out of the foster care system and provide supportive relationships that will give them long-term stability. 102 - Starting a Ministry for Vulnerable Children - how churches can begin to form a plan for supporting foster care and adoption in their church family and community. 203 - Rethinking children's ministry: creating an environment of safety - by understanding the experiences of the children we come in contact with, we can be better equipped to care for them in our church family. 204 - "Who, Me?! Equipping you to share the message" - maybe you feel the call to engage for vulnerable kids but your church family isn't there yet. Learn how you can share the gospel call to care for the fatherless in your sphere of influence. 302 - Fostering, adopting and mentoring older children, teens and young adults who have aged out of care - older kids in the system and aged-out youth still need family and community.
