Beautiful day on the water!

Today marks the end of our, very successful we think, season of our Learn to Race J29 Program. Directors John and Mark were assisted by Able Sail program participants and Fineligne race team members to haul her out and clean her up. Thanks to our generous sponsor Raymond and his family for making this new program a reality. This is only the beginning!

Great job to inspire disabled people to discover sailing and make it part of an active life. We are looking for someone with proven experience in digital, media or comms, and who either gets boating or has a lived experience of disability. http://rya.org/ewlV50DBIXM

On January 4th, President George and Director Mark were presented with a generous donation from the Co-op IGA Shediac and the John Lyons Foundation. Thanks to Georges Leger and Louis Babineau and their committee for their continued support of our accessible sailing programs. The amount of $2480 was donated to secure a new mainsail for the "Gordon McRae", our busiest sailboat in our fleet. The new sail, that will include tribute decals acknowledging their support, will power our Freedom 20 for years to come. The sail will be provided by our partners at North Sails Atlantic.

Boats are bundled up for the winter snug as a bug in a rug. A new boat cover type is in place with curved battens on Silver Lining (it is under the tarp so you can't see it); this will help during winter but especially during summer when the boats are covered for the night.
