This week we have a great bunch of guys (24) in from Columbia PA. In. .They are serious fisherman and seem to be enjoying themselves. Lol One lad caught 60 bass the first day. Saying that, these guys are strickly catch and release, which is great to see the respect for the environment. They photo the size of the fish they catch and then release them. GREAT BUNCH OF GUYS and they have 2 over 5 lbs and believe the largest (I believe) is 5.8 lbs.

Another great fish fry put on by our American friends. Brian is always the one mastering the frier, but Ted was in charge of the quality control, as he sampled each and every batch of fries and fish. I really can't decide if the bass is better than the blue gills. Both were absolutely unbelieveable!!! Thank you to everyone else for in incredible contributions to the meal .

Well last week we had guests from Nashville, Cleveland, Scottsdale and this week coming, we have more from Colorado, Orlando, Meadville PA.. Montana, Nashville and Ridgeway PA. Most have been coming in excess of 30 years. They are more than guests, as we have grown up with this family. Welcome back for another year on Desert Lake. ENJOY !!!... Bob & Cindy

What a fantastic week !!! A family from Cleveland that has been coming for the past 29 years brought up a young lady (a nurse) that became hooked on fishing. She out fished most of the guys and caught an 18 1/2 inch largemouth off of the dock. Hence she provided most of the fish for the "Thursday night fish fry" lol. Way to go Jamie !!!! Another fellow from the Nashville area brought up the game of "skulls and bones" (which I was introduced to 2 weeks ago) at a bbq. This is a game that is going to take off and is absolutely addictive. Thanks Raymond Young and Ted Campbell, I am hooked!!! Sofia, Chase and Aria, safe travels back to Scottsdale.

For those interested in booking a family get-away, we are sorry but we have nothing available prior to the closing of this years trout season. We do have cottages available from the15th of Sept onward for fall bass fishing or just enjoying the beauty of the fall. For those thinking of the spring of 2020, we do still have cottages available for opening of Lake Trout (last Sat of May) and some during the month of June. (Opening of bass). If interested book your family vacation,... reunion or fishing trip now!!! Thank you in advance for the "SHARES", we do appreciate it. We are going to start a "WAITLIST" in the event we have cancellations. To be added to the list, we will be asking for the dates you prefer in the event of a cancellation. Here is one of the many bass of June 2019 catch. This family from Pennsylvania first came in the 1980's. (Correct me if I am wrong Aaron !!!) They love to come to Desert Lake in June for the start of the season. Sometimes in the fall also!!!! Lol

May as well show some of the 2019 fish caught by the Knapp's. Just rec'd them. Lol thanks Steve !!!

We would like to give a "SHOUT OUT" to this lovely lady. She has been coming to Abrams Cottages since 1967 (ish). She and her late husband (Doug) passed on their fishing skills to their son Steve, who is no slouch either. Now with Tyler, the third generation, he is hauling out the big ones!

We just had a cancellation for opening of Lake Trout which is the week of 25 May to 01 June. It is cottage #6 on the point. It is a 2 bedroom with an indoor washroom. We have outdoor showers with hot water. The rate for this cottage is $800 for the week. We also have someother cottages available from 25 May to 29 June and those rates range for $675 to $1200 per week. ... Remember BASS season opens on the 15 of June this year. Bass season opens 15th of June and Lake Trout opens on the 25th of May. We have 2&3 bedroom cottages available during the month June. We rent by the week Saturday to Saturday. There is a beautiful sand beach, outdoor showers with hot water for those cottages that don't have indoor facilities. Rates range from $675 to $1200 per week....
