Tune in today at 1:35 pm. Ever since Ryan decided to become an entrepreneur back in 2009 when he founded the Detailing Knights a waterless mobile car detailing company, he has been doing extraordinary things for the black community. He found it very difficult at the beginning to access resources, training, and education around entrepreneurship in his community. There may have been programs out there, but it took quite a lot of digging to find them. He also realized very quick...ly that there were a lot more challenges for people of African and Caribbean descent when it came to accessing capital, gaining investors, and networking as a whole. That's why in 2017 he decided to create the Afro Caribbean Business Network otherwise known A.C.B.N. It's an organization where people of African and Caribbean descent can go to gain access to workshops, one on one mentorship and are given the opportunity to network at events with other black business professionals. Ryan has also been active in his own company the Detailing Knights by offering mentorship programs for youth as well as summer employment. Ryan runs a program called "Be the Boss" where youth are given the training and tools to "run" there own mini detailing franchise over the summer and are able to make significantly more then they would at a minimum wage job while gaining valuable life skills. Ryan has collaborated with many different organizations such as SETSI (social economy through social inclusion), The Jamaican Canadian Association (J.C.A), the Black Business Professional Association (BBPA), First Fridays Black Boys Code, and The Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few. This past February Ryan was in an integral part of organizing the 2nd Annual Legacy Building Symposium which was held at Sheridan College Mississauga Campus.
