Would be even funnier if it weren't so true! Happy Wacky Wednesday everyone!

Hello Everyone As many of you know they have announced that massage therapy is now allowed to open up again. There are some changes that have been put into plac...e by the government now moving forward until further notice. All clients must have either a written prescription from a Medical Doctor, or a written referral from a regulated health professional like a chiropractor, physiotherapist, dentist and so on. -An existing written prescription is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. -An existing written referral is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. -A copy of the original written prescription or written referral is acceptable. -The written prescription or written referral must be provided prior to receiving treatment. Masks are still mandatory on the table and I will still be sending out pre screen questions as well as the Covid questionnaire in the room. I will be returning to work on Jan 4th 2021 to my regular hours. If you have any questions please let me know though here as the Office is now closed till the 28th for the holidays. I look forward to seeing all of you soon! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Carly

A little Friday funny, have a good weekend everyone
The last Christmas wacky Wednesday, I'm kinda sad..it's been fun! This one appealed to my slightly weird sense of humour...sorry
Ok, Dr Boyd is a wonderful human being, but by the look of this video you wouldn't want to upset her! The look on Dr Bajors face is priceless :D
This weeks Christmas Foodie Friday is for the brussels sprouts haters amongst you, even you have to admit this likes good...doesn't it?? Bacon and brussels sprouts are such a good combo! :D It's dairy free and can be made vegan or keto. INGREDIENTS 1 pound brussels sprouts trimmed and halved (quarter if large) 2 tbsp olive oil... 2 small onion (or 1 large) finely diced 5 ounces bacon 4 cloves garlic 1/2 tsp salt 4 cups shredded curly kale 3/4 cup cashews soaked in hot water for 10 minutes 3/4 cup almond milk 1/4 cup nutritional yeast 1 tsp dijon mustard pinch of nutmeg 1 tsp lemon juice INSTRUCTIONS Preheat the oven to 400Fahrenheit (200 Celsius) Prep the brussels sprouts by trimming off the stem and removing any dirty outer leaves. Cut the brussels sprouts in half or quarters depending on their size. Try to ensure that all of the brussels sprout pieces are approximately the same size. Place them on a baking tray/baking dish, drizzle with 1 tbsp oil bake for 20-25 minutes until tender. In a cast iron skillet (or oven proof skillet) add the bacon and cook on medium high heat for 5 minutes until it begins to cook through. Depending on how much oil there is in the pan from the bacon, you may need to add 1/2 tbsp olive oil before adding in the diced onion and garlic, sprinkling with salt and leaving to cook for 4 minutes until the onions begin to soften. Finally add in the shredded kale, lower the heat to medium and cook for 6 more minutes until the kale has wilted and is no longer crunchy While the kale is cooking make the creamy sauce. In a high speed blender or nutribullet container combine the drained cashews, almond milk, mustard, lemon juice, nutmeg and nutritional yeast and blend until smooth. Once the brussels sprouts are tender, remove them from the oven and add them to the skillet with the sauteed kale and onions. Pour in the cashew sauce, give everything a stir to ensure its well coated. Transfer the skillet to the oven to make for 15 minutes until the top is golden and the gratin is gently bubbling and heated through. Recipe courtesy of everylastbite.com

Every year there's at least one awkward present! Or your just an inch short of wrapping paper, this wrapping tip makes total sense :D
Lasting joy doesn’t come from objects, it comes from experiences. Our brains are like living scrapbooks; they collect moments in time, frame them, and revisit them constantly. Unlike material objects, moments are priceless and create lasting stories. In the long run making memories will make you happier than buying things. #collectmomentsnotthings #happymemories #createjoy #lifeisshort #createexperiences #accesschiropractic #accessmondays #airdrie_chiro
Chickpeas....I know, not exactly the first ingredient that springs to mind when you want a sweet treat. But honestly, these do work to satisfy that 3pm slump (just tell the kids they're made of cookie dough) Ingredients 1 15 oz can chickpeas - rinsed 1/2 cup almond butter - or substitute nut butter of your choosing... 1 tbsp vanilla extract 3 tbsp maple syrup 1/2 cup chocolate chips 1/2 cup unsweetened shredded coconut Instructions Combine chickpeas, almond butter, vanilla extract, and maple syrup in a food processor. Pulse until well combined. Transfer to a bowl, and add chocolate chips and shredded coconut. Roll into balls (I used a tablespoon as a guide for size), and transfer to a cookie sheet. Put sheet in the freezer, and let freeze for 30 minutes to 1 hour or until hard. Store in an airtight container in the freezer. Alternatively, you can eat the mixture as a dip, or store in the fridge. Recipe courtesy of itsavegworldafterall.com
Happy wacky Wednesday everyone!
You have the power to create positive changes for your health, ask yourself "how am I keeping myself healthy? Don't wait for your 'check engine light' to come on before you do something about it.
It's cozy season around here! Since Hygge came to light a couple of years ago there's also a new kid on the block in the form of Lagom, which is a Swedish version of a similar mindset. Either way, grab a warm drink, curl up with a book and pay attention to your mental wellbeing during these unusual times.

It's the end of another week and time for another Foodie Friday recipe. I've personally made these and can vouch for their deliciousness :D Easy to change out the dip, if like me, mustard isn't your thing, serve with sweet potato wedges or fries for a healthy side.
