In terms of the pandemic, we need to be looking forward and acknowledging that we are in this for the long haul, Marziali said. Given the circumstances, there needs to be increased funding specifically for community-based organizations that service people living with HIV to tailor services for the current situation. I believe that investments in online services that bolster social connections are needed now and would also pay off in the future to address social isolation and loneliness post-COVID, Marziali added.
Meet our new Executive Director (ED) Emilie Renahy Initially trained as a social epidemiologist, Emilie has almost 15 years of experience in the field of social health inequalities, including interventions and public policies evaluation, in Paris, Toronto, Montreal. She has been a volunteer and in charge of volunteers’ groups in various community settings. She recently decided to move her career path from research to the community sector and got a complementary training i...n social administration. Her goal is to help improve individuals’ and communities’ well-being and promote diversity, inclusion, and equity both in organizations and in the community. Emilie is therefore thrilled to come onboard the ACCM team as the new Executive Director. She is looking forward to connecting with and developing open, trustful, collaborative, and fruitful relationships with ACCM members, volunteers, staff, and Board, to help achieve ACCM mission.
