Sooo looking forward to going back to full service soon and seeing all those patients weve been missing! Our new normal may look a little different, but our service will be the best ever. We have had fun this week rearranging offices, trying out our new gear, and practising safe protocols!

Useful information regarding wearing a mask. However, when wearing behind-the-ear hearing aids, using a band at the back of the head that the mask earloops can be hooked onto can help reduce the risk of losing your hearing aids when removing the mask. We shared a link to an "ear saver" with buttons to knit or crochet, and soon we will have plastic digitally printed ear savers available at our clinics.

When wearing a mask, be especially careful when removing it to make sure it does not dislodge your hearing aid. Today marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands. As many of you know, PJ (Pieter Jeroen) is originally from the Netherlands. We are grateful for Canadas role in this important event. PJ and Heather are also happy that they were able to visit the Netherlands last summer!

Our hearts go out to the families of the crew onboard the CH-Cyclone helicopter, and to the crew onboard HMCS Fredericton at this difficult time. Praying for the Search and Rescue team as they continue their search.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, comrades, and friends of RCMP officer Heidi Stevenson and the other victims of todays tragic events.

Today is Vimy Ridge Day, the first time all four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together. Though it ended in victory, it was at a great cost. We remember the sacrifice of the thousands of soldiers who gave their lives that day, and continue to be grateful for all who have served our country since and who continue to serve.

To our valued patients, We recognize that should you become ill, your hearing will play a vital role in communicating with health care workers in order to best manage your recovery. We maintain our commitment to your better hearing by being available to assist should you need us, via the following methods: In our clinic, services, including battery sales, are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Practitioners will new-glove for every transaction.... Spaced appointments to avoid any overlap of people in our waiting room, and time to disinfect all surfaces between patients. Please only arrive within 5 minutes of your appointment time. Telephone troubleshooting - call if you are having difficulty. We can walk you through some simple measures of our initial troubleshooting process. Door hanger service if you are self-isolating and need service, we will pick up your hearing aids* to check them. Just hang them in a bag on the doorknob and we will return them the same way! Battery dropoff - $40 for a box of 40 batteries, hung on your doorknob. Pay by etransfer or credit card via telephone. Porchside programming We are laptop based and most hearing aids dispensed within the past 5 years can be wirelessly programmed. If you are having difficulty and need an adjustment, we can come to your house, communicate by telephone, and adjust your hearing aids without even coming inside! REMINDER, if you have travelled in the past 14 days OR have a cough, or feel otherwise unwell, please do not come to our clinic. Call us to set an appointment for a later date. Stay safe. We are open to provide essential services on an appointment-only basis. Enhanced infection control and social distancing practices are in effect. We are able to check and program your hearing aids and dispense batteries if needed while maintaining a distance of 6+ feet. Hearing testing is suspended until further notice.
