Dakota and his best friend/sister Hershey. came from a large group of cats in a small apartment. They are so used to small places they are often found snuggled together in a small corner of their foster room. Slowly they are learning to explore and play and what it means to be a cat. Dakota is a curious friendly cat who always must see what's happening around him. If he hears or sees humans he wants head butts and attention, and will meow until you oblige. He loves to lay ...down next to his foster human and copy the pose she is in, like he's playing a shadow game. He also greets her with a kitty hug and will jump onto her shoulder. He has the cutest little squeak and has just learned to meow. Although he was weary of humans at first, he's grown into quite the love bug. He loves attention, head butts, wet food, chin scratches, treats and more attention. He thinks cell phones are amazing! He's also very protective of his shy but sassy sister Hershey. Hershey is just getting accustomed to having plenty of space but for now she prefers hiding in small spots she finds. Being very tiny she's slightly more skeptical of humans. She has such an innocent look but watch out if you move too quickly with her she proudly displays her sassy hiss that's more adorable than vicious, and has earned her her nickname "hissy missy." Despite this fear response, she is a gentle girl who loves head rubs and chin scratches once she smells your hand first. She likes her wet food and treats as well as covered hiding spaces, cat trees and bookshelves. If she's feeling uneasy she looks to Dakota for comfort and she will hide under him in the cutest kitty sandwich. She's becoming more adventurous and will explore the foster room with him. She has learned humans are ok, she just needs a bit of a security blanket at first to open up. With patience and time this little sweet girl will blossom into the cat she was always meant to be. These two beautiful cats would benefit from a quiet & patient home where they can learn to feel safe and secure. Would you like to make Hershey & Dakota a part of your family? Introducing Duke! Don't let Duke's somewhat skeptical expression fool you; this 6yo cat is a real softie. He's shy right now, as he gets used to the adoption centre, but once he gets to know you, he'll show you his affectionate side. Duke loves lots of scratches and belly rubs. Duke likes other cats and would do well with an experienced cat owner. Interested? You can start the adoption process by filling out an online application at our website (link in bio).... All AVA cats are vetted, including spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and microchipping. #avacatrescue #avacats #actionvolunteersforanimals #avacats #rescuecat #rescuecatsofinstagram #catrescue #petsmartrichmondhill #petsmartcharities #adoptdontshop #rescuedismyfavouritebreed

Hi everyone meet Billy! He is a 1-year-old very sweet, lovable, gentle boy. Once he gets to know you, he will gladly hop into your lap for cuddles. He loves his food and will let you know it's time to eat. Billy is very playful and will eagerly chase and play with any toy you give him as well as chase and play with his cat friends. Once he’s done playing, he will snuggle and groom his playmate. ... Billy is very cat friendly and is great with kittens. He’s getting better with being picked up but is not crazy about having your face close to his. He loves to spend time in the window watching the birds and squirrels. Billy’s adoption fee is $175. All of our cats are vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, defleaed, demited, and have received Revolution treatment (heart worm and tick preventative). If you're interested in giving this fur baby a forever home, please come into PetSmart - Warden & Eglinton to meet him (following COVID-19 protocols of course) and fill out an adoption application either in person or at http://avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form/

Hi! My name is Mochi (sounds like moe-kee)! I was rescued from a cat colony. I have been in foster for almost 4 months, as I came in visibly pregnant. I have a gentle, laid-back nature. I am still shy and adjusting to my new life with humans indoors, but once I've warmed up to you, I will be coming for lots of petting! I'm especially grateful for mealtimes, and will purr and head butt you to show my appreciation. Despite my shy nature, I do love attention and you will know... I'm in Heaven when you hear me purring up a storm. I would do best with experienced cat owners in an adult home or one with older children only, as I am still learning to be confident. Would you like to make Mochi a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: avacats.org/adopt/adoption-form. We will get back to you within 48 hours! Our cats are vetted including spay/neuter, vaccines (rabies and FVRCP), flea and worm treatments, and are microchipped. Adoption fees are $175 for each adult cat 1 year or older, 200 for kittens
