Coming from a house with no AC on these crazy hot days, my rice bag was a life saver! Tossed it in the freezer for a few hours last night and it made such a big difference. Easier to fall asleep at night and keep you cool on those spicy afternoons. Added bonus, it doesn’t give that uncomfortable wet feeling that ice packs do. Hello Everyone! My name is Chelsea Freisen and I am very excited to be joining the Active Edge team. I have been a Registered Massage Therapist for over 10 years now. I started out working in Lacombe when I moved to Alberta from Saskatchewan in 2010 (go riders!). In 2015 I started working under my own business name - Dynamic Massage Therapy. I still use this name and work part time in Lacombe, but also started working in Blackfalds 2 years ago. Since my little family built ou...r home here a few years ago it just made sense. I have been loving it so much that when the business I worked in shut down, I knew I wanted to find another place here in town. So I am very grateful to the ladies at Active Edge for giving me this opportunity. I offer Relaxation, Therapeutic, Cupping and Prenatal Massage. I am all set up to offer you Direct Billing and have set up online booking for myself. You can also call the clinic to get a booking set up that way. I will be available Tuesdays and Thursdays for a few hours in the afternoon, and Fridays all afternoon into the evening. To any of my existing clients, I am excited for you to see my new space. We are able to reopen!!!! (With some new standards) Some of our ladies are off for Christmas break but you will be hearing from them soon! ... They’ve made a few mandatory adjustments to our practise: As per the update provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health, massage therapists are able to resume immediately providing services under the following guidelines: 1) All clients must have either a written prescription from a Medical Doctor, or a written referral from a regulated health professional (Chiro, physio, doctor...) see website for list. https://www.alberta.ca/regulated-health-professions.aspx a: An existing written prescription is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. b: An existing written referral is only valid if issued within the last 12 months. c: A copy of the original written prescription or written referral is acceptable. d: The written prescription or written referral must be provided prior to receiving treatment. e: A copy of the written prescription or written referral must be kept in the client’s file. 2) All previous requirements for hygiene standards, PPE, masks, and other barriers issued by the individual associations will still apply. This exemption, which has been provided by the Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) may be terminated or modified by the CMOH in writing without notice and for any reason as determined by the CMOH. We have been shut down because We are not Provincially Regulated and not viewed as Heath Professionals. A fight that we have been fighting to achieve for years... I work on so many amazing people and we do Rehab type work. Aid in injury repair, Help with sports/ injuries new and old, Scar tissue repair, Joint replacement rehab, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Neck injuries.. the list goes on! Yes we do Relax Massages but we are Essential and, I feel, like I make a difference In my clients journey to recovery in whatever their recover may be. There are no known transmitted cases in this field of work, Our specific genre was applauded in its efforts to stop the spread as there were no cases transmitted out of Massage, Esthetics, Hair salons.. Message from The Owner: No official date but its a start... Active Edge will be reopening as soon as Stage 2 of Albertas Gradual Relaunch Plan commences. Stage 1 starts May 14th and if that goes well they will allow Stage 2 to commence. I am so happy for those that are resuming life in these upcoming days and start earning a paycheque doing what they love! ... We cant wait to Excersize our Right to Work and cant wait to see your faces soon!!

We havent been given an exact date on when we can open our doors.. but we want to be as prepared as we possibly can be for the day we get word that we can be OPEN! During this time we have been revamping and going over what we can do as Individuals and as a Clinic to make every one of you feel safe and confident walking through our doors. There are mandatory changes AHS and the government are implementing and we are making sure we comply with these changes. Saskatchewan Registered Massage Therapist are being allowed to go back to work May 19th, lets hope Alberta follows suit!
