He will be taking close care of his patients with unique tailor made dietary recommendations, smart tips for a better life style, simple and yet effective daily exercise patterns together with breathing techniques aside from acupuncture, tui na therapy (ancient form of Chinese massage), gua sha, moxibustion and fire cupping. His hours are between 11am and 6 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please call 902-422-4192 to book for an appointment. Free consultations are available on book or walk-ins on every Monday 5-7pm. Murat can also be referred as a wounded healer. After years of spending long days before computers in financial world as a commodities trader and suffering multiple health issues and surgeries he then decided that it was time to change tracks and take a step into the healing world. That desire to transform led him to first become a trail guide, then to be a certified life coach which was followed by clinical yoga training. His passion of Nature guided him to the incredible world of healing plants as the second of leg of his journey. Finally in order to combine and blend all aspects of his healing work under one roof he completed a 3 year full time diploma program at The College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine here in Halifax. We know a lot about bunch of other things but it is somehow amazing how we know little about ourselves and how we are so disconnected he says. According to Murat prevention is the key and with proper guidance and willingness one can develop a sense of self watchfulness which will eventually keep him or her away from trouble on the path to longevity and pain free living. A holistic approach requires evaluating the physical body together with the mental and emotional states of a person. It is perfectly fine to be emotional however if one lets the emotions seize the control it can turn into a pathological factor effecting the overall health. If the body is not balanced physically the person may also be prone to mental disorders. Everything around and inside us change continuously and maintaining balance holistically is not always an easy task. However we have the highest innate ability to adopt and survive if that balance is well established. Educate, support and let go; it is essential to develop a horizontal relationship between the practitioner and the patient for observing positive and permanent results. Tailor made daily exercise routines to address the condition of the patient combining yoga poses, breathing techniques, chi gong sequences and cardio workouts are great ways to start with the educational aspect of the treatments. I show those exercises and evaluate the results and modify them if it is needed to be. It is always followed by dietary recommendations together with drinking habits. Sometimes how we eat is more important that what we ingest. It is also true that we are what we eat. It is our life style, dietary habits, emotional imbalances and environmental factors that make us sick. I go over all those factors with my patient and offer easy to apply fixes and moderations if needed. With the help of those smart tips, the patients feel immediate change in their energy levels and quality of life. My practice involves Tui Na (the most ancient form of massage which is father to all contemporary disciplines like physiotherapy, osteopathy, massage therapy, etc. and can be interpreted as shake and vibrate) which is composed of over 60 manipulation techniques to create therapeutical vibrations across the body to stimulate the nervous system to kick start and awaken the innate healing mechanism. Fire cupping is to create negative suction over on the interstitial space which is the gap between the skin and the muscle to help lymphatic flow. Moxibustion is a healing modality I use where I burn the processed form of a plant called Artemisia Vulgaris or mugwort over on the patient’s body as the oldest form of heat therapy to energize and combat the adverse effects of cold especially for cold conditions of our climate and long winter months. I use a buffalo horn to scrape the skin of my patient to open up the pores and invigorate the local circulation in a technique called Gua sha.. It can even be used to reduce fever in common cold. Bloodletting is another ancient modality where we pierce and squeeze few drops of stagnated old blood from mostly the extremities to retain the free flow of blood and vital energy which we call as Chi. It is a very effective method especially in chronic pain conditions .It is finally the acupuncture that complement all the above treatment techniques listed above. It helps run the energy smoothly in the body, remove stagnation and help our internal organs function properly. It is all about restoring the balance and maintaining it. Our bodies are fully capable of carrying out such a task but we race to destabilize ourselves in numerous ways and sometimes we need some support..! Depending on the condition of the patients, it may take just a few treatments to restore the balance and in chronic cases it may need quite a few more.

The time of peace, waiting and conserving. The thinker's or the philosopher's season. It is also the season attributed to the water element. The time for the kidneys and kidneys open to the ears. Listen to yourself and also some music to address your soul..

A composite treatment of acne on the back. Mugwort ash and white flower oil is a great topical for drying out the white headed red spots supported by the acupuncture needles to rebalance the skin texture. Moxa box over the kidney area enhances the overall energy and fluid circulation. #acupuncture #tcm #holistichealth #halifaxlocal #halifaxnoise #moxa #alternativemedicine
