Here's a summary of Ford and Lecce's school opening announcement. We are floored that our youngest are being put in the largest class sizes, granting them the f...ewest protections. A reminder that we have over 2 million students in this province to share the funding they have announced. When Lecce says that they are hiring 500 nurses, what he means is that about 10% of schools will have access to nurses. For the lists of schools, designated boards will have secondary part time, while non-designated boards could have secondary back full time. After months to prepare they've only given our children 10% of what they need for safety. Shame!

PETERBOROUGH POLICE RECEIVE AN ARMOURED VEHICLE FOR THE EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM The Peterborough Police Service is adding a new vehicle to its fleet courtesy of... a private donor. On May 12, 2020 the Peterborough Police Services Board approved the donation of a used Osh Kosh Sandcat, a Light Armoured Vehicle (LAV), similar to the vehicle in the picture. The donor has asked to remain anonymous. The vehicle will arrive in Peterborough today (June 15) and is currently undergoing an exterior paint job that will include the addition of Peterborough Police Service decals on the exterior body of the vehicle. The vehicle will be used by the Service’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) for training purposes and in a variety of high-risk situations bringing an elevated level of safety to members as well as provide added safety and security in emergent situations to the community. The LAV, with all terrain capabilities, will also be used during high-risk calls involving local and regional police partners or where emergency services partners including Peterborough County/City Paramedics and Peterborough Fire Services are also deployed. We would like to thank the generous donor for this vehicle. This is an important piece of equipment for our police service and all of our Emergency Service partners as ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the community is a shared responsibility, says Peterborough Police Chief Scott Gilbert. Further details will be released once the vehicle refurbishment is completed.
