Last month, Agnico Eagle Mines Limited hosted the 5th Annual Christmas Market organized by the Val-d'Or Public Market. This event provided a wonderful opportunity to stock up on items from regional artisans and small businesses. We are happy to have supported this special community experience, while adhering to local COVID-19 safety protocols.

Agnico Eagle mine Goldex employees recently donated over 60 coats, nearly 40 additional winter items (boots, hats, scarves, mittens, etc.), and 150 reusable masks to La Piaule de Val d'Or, a non-profit community organization that offers short-term accommodation and support services. Thank you for your generosity and strong community spirit!

This #TBT, we are throwing it back to last week, when our Agnico Eagle Finland mine celebrated the 8-year anniversary of the last ore load from the Suurikuusikko open pit. Since the closure of that pit, Kittila has only been mining ore from their underground mine. Following a Finnish mining tradition, the bottom of the pit was tarred by employees and everyone received a piece of ore as a keepsake. The celebrations were topped off with fireworks, cake and coffee!

Agnico Eagle Finland employees recently participated in the third annual Positive Friday competition, where ideas were submitted to improve workplace health and well-being. Two winning ideas prevailed! The Pakatti team hosts weekly athletic challenges among geologists and sample handlers, and the Laboratory Analysis team lifts team spirit with fun break-time exercises. Congratulations to both winners!

Le Samedi 26 septembre, 21 employés de Goldex ont participé à la 3e édition de l'ascension du Mont Goldex. Leur ascension représente l'équivalent de 2 fois l'ascension du Mont Tremblant ou d'un immeuble de 500 étages. Avec leurs pas, ils ont contribué à amasser 10 000 $ offert par Agnico Eagle pour chacun des kilomètres parcourus. La somme sera versée à l'unité Val-d'Or Domrémy, un organisme communautaire spécialisé en toxicomanie et en santé mentale. Cette initiative est le ...reflet de notre intention de soutenir les organisations qui sont moins favorisées par la présence de l'industrie minière dans notre communauté. Cela n’aurait pas été possible sans eux! * * * On Saturday, September 26th Agnico Eagle employees climbed "Mount Goldex to help raise funds for Val-d’Or Unité Domrémy, an organization that provides support to people suffering from addiction and mental illness. The group's climb consisted of walking up the underground ramp of our Goldex mine, an ascent double that of Mont Tremblant - or the equivalent of a 500-story building! A total of $10,000 was raised for this important cause and we'd like to congratulate all those who participated!
