... Dear Yoshinkan Aikido students It’s been some time since we had to cancel lessons and close the dojo in support of COVID-19 prevention measures. Although it seems like the pandemic will not end so soon, I’m sure everybody’s patience and efforts are making the difference and leading us to the breakthrough. I feel empty and lonely not having Aikido training which used to be a natural part of my everyday life. However I’m convinced that tatami is not the only place where we can practice Aikido. For us, practitioners of Yoshinkan Aikido now should be the perfect time to live the ideals of Aikido, as expressed by the words ‘ (Aiki Soku Seikatsu: Aikido is life)’. Live your life, day to day, being concentrated on what you can and should do 'now'. I will look forward to the day when life goes back to normal and we’ll be able to meet each other in the Dojo.

A class with Shihan Payet.
Here is a great training tip for getting the feeling of keeping the back foot flat!
In this video, Chida Sensei explains how we shift our weight in Hiriki no Yosei (2).
In case you haven't been seeing the posts, please note that Sensei Chris in Oakville has been updating his dojo page with excellent, motivating, useful content ...almost daily: https://www.facebook.com/ShindokanMartialArts/ Even if you already "like" and "follow" the page, you may have to change your "follow" settings from "default" to "show first" to make they show up regularly on your feed!
Excellent points from Chida Sensei! Osu!
Thanks to Akira Kato for this interesting instructional clip from Kyoichi Inoue. More from Inoue Sensei in "Aikido Shihan Kyoichi Inoue Learning from the Kojiki", on the Aikido Sangenkai blog: https://www.aikidosangenkai.org//aikido-shihan-kyoichi-in/
