It’s that time of year again! The Airdrie Stars spring teams are now accepting applications for our spring 2021 hockey season. Check out the link: https://airdriestars.sportngin.com/register/form/253080565 We understand that some organizations are hosting ID skates in the coming weeks. We want to explain why we have decided against ID Skates at this time. We know that the cohort system being used by Hockey Alberta and Hockey Super League in coordination with public health g...uidelines restricts players from participating in activities outside of their cohort. Taking into consideration that the consequence is to risk missing activities with their winter squads, the Airdrie Stars have opted to not host ID skates as the risk remains too high, and the last thing we would want is to compromise your winter season. Instead we are asking that interested players show their interest directly through the Airdrie Stars website and the team Manager for your age group will reach out directly to discuss further, the same applies if you have been scouted or recruited to participate in the spring 2021 season. Second, we understand that some organizations are advertising spring hockey with base pricing that is well below the average. We have have taken a close look at our fees to ensure we remain competitive while providing your children with excellent development, a supportive and fun experience and plenty of ice time. We remain as committed as ever to provide an excellent overall spring hockey experience for good value as a not-for-profit association. With ice costing over $200 an hour, and tournaments at approximately $2400 each, we will, as always provide 21.5 of ice time that will be split between development and games as well as $2,720 for teams to use towards additional exhibition games or tournaments. Your fees will also include and a jersey with number and name, as well as matching socks. We pride ourselves on offering transparent fees and an honest and fair program. It goes against the foundation upon which we were built to offer pricing that seems to good to be true, followed by numerous cash calls. As a reference, last year our player fees were $675.00. We look forward to reviewing your application so we can begin building our teams. Remember all coaches and managers have their base fees waived. Apply today!
