Back in CS on Saturday and it was 26 Cel. Planned on a bath, some offloading, winterizing and some minor repairs on the Sunday and a winter storage at the compound. Yeah like that happened. -14 cel, winds, snow, went into Monday which was a snow day. So plugged in to save on propane - street front of our house which we own. Waiting on the weather for a good wash - she still has bugs from our transit here from BC on her. This weekend we are taking her to the compound - also pu...tting the snows on the truck! All good. The list of repair/mods/continuing construction is ongoing but we will be back at her soon. Attached are some photos of the last trip. We really just caught the end of the season.
Weather is holding and we are adjusting our water consumption and energy use. The ALDE system is performing very well and heated floors are a great treat on zero cel mornings. Generator has been useful as yesterday we did not produce enough solar power for the night. Tonight we are going to set up in a field and watch the stars.
We found a wonderful dispersed campsite and the weather is nearly perfect. A little cold at night because we are at elevation but close to services and a water supply. Dogs are really enjoying not being on a rope and having free roam of the forest. Everything seems to be working well but we really miss the LiFePO4 battery bank. The 4 X Lead Carbon only deliver 120 amp hours at 24 volts.
Heading out tomorrow southbound for a fall camping trip. Going to be doing some off piste/dispersed camping which means lots of water/propane/firewood. Solar will.handle the worst the fall nights can bring and there is not much of a canopy here. Shower was tested and does not leak. Belly pan is fully caulked and we sorted the LTE service I hope. Also good news we got her a new storage spot at Peterson AFB for when we return.
Starting the to do list. We are going camping this Friday for a week. She needs a good cleaning and some winterizing when we get back - then starting on the big ticket items. Leaving the hydronic heaters running to keep her and the batteries over 5cel to prevent damage. We shall see. Today I glassed the leaky shower. Max caulked and cleaned the exterior bottom strip - something we need to do to keep the water out of the belly pan this winter. Paint tomorrow. Hopefully that puts the leaks to bed.
