Did you know that AGNA has a advocacy committee? Here is the latest from the Advocacy corner: A provincial election has been called. Have you thought about what you want to ask the political hopefuls who ask for your vote? The Advocacy Committee has been thinking of what we would like to ask on behalf of our senior clients. Here are some questions to help you to get started. Be sure to ask about issues which affect seniors and be sure to vote! What does aging in place mean ...to you and your party? What is your strategy for meeting the need for long-term care beds in this province? How do you and your party plan to work with professional gerontological nurses to promote the health of older adults? What will you do to put a greater emphasis on health promotion and illness prevention in order to reduce illness, build a healthier community and save the system money? For more information on the advocacy committee visit the agna website (www.agna.ca) See more
