Every time a woman suffers a late-term miscarriage or gives birth to a stillborn baby, she could potentially become the target of a homicide investigation, with police visiting homes and delivery rooms to carry out interrogations. Yet some medical and civil rights groups say that scenario is not so far-fetched if the murder prosecution of Chelsea Becker is permitted to proceed in a rural county of the San Joaquin Valley. They say it could judicially rewrite the state’s homicide statute, expanding it to apply to any pregnant woman whose conduct might have resulted in the loss of her pregnancy."

We got a donation today from a lovely sounding woman who said she could have used us in her youth. It always makes me sad to hear from people who had to go through their abortions alone and reminds me that we should always live in such a way that it sends signals out into the world that we can be trusted - little beacons of light for others to see. Hello, friends! We're in need of several things. The first is more drivers. We especially need people living in far away or rural areas who would be willing to drive clients even just part of the way to Edmonton or Calgary. The ability to drive even part of the way makes it so much easier on us to get clients to their appointments and the time commitment is very minimal as it simply depends on whether we have someone coming from your area. In all likelihood, depending on wher...e you live it could be as little as a handful of times a year. We are happy to pay for gas and food. The UCP in is more interested in privatization than in strengthening and maintaining one of Canada's most valued features - accessible, free, quality health care for ALL citizens. This should scare the shit out of you, especially when you look to the south. The UCP playbook is clear here - decimate, then suggest privatization as a solution. We need to keep MARCHING and making our voices heard and IGNORE Kenney's new protest legislation. Our health literally depends on it.
