Hello families, The staff at Aldborough hope you all enjoyed a restful break with your family. As you know the Ministry of Education has closed all schools to in-person learning for the week of January 4th to 8th. This means that we will move to remote learning for this week. On Monday, all classroom teachers will be calling families to check-in and outline what will be happening on their virtual classroom for the week. These calls may come from an unknow or private number on your call display. Finally, attendance will be taken each day by the classroom teacher. If you do not plan on having your child participate or they are ill on a day of learning please use SchoolMessenger to record the absence. Thank you and we hope to see you all soon!

What a great first week back! Students did an amazing job learning and following the new routines and rules we have prepared for them. Parents were flexible and patient with our new pick up and drop off routines and our staff were prepared and thoughtful with their students. I am so proud of everyone and everything you have done to make the best of our current situation. I am grateful to be part of such an understanding and thoughtful community. Let's keep it up! If you have any questions regarding our new routines and procedures please do not hesitate to ask. We are always open to feedback and would be happy to explain in more detail the reasons things are being done a little differently this year. That being said, we are happy to have the students back learning and we plan on making this year a great year! Mr. Fife

Aldborough P.S. 14.06.2020

Good evening Bobcat Community We have come to the final day of the week and are just finishing up last minute touches in order to welcome back our Bobcats! We are very excited to see everyone! Rest assured, we will all be wearing huge grins under our masks when we see you all! Here are a few more pieces of information to digest before we begin our new school year:... HAND SANITIZER - Students are welcome to bring their own hand sanitizer if they wish. They are not to share it and it MUST be labelled with their name on it. WATER - Students are encouraged to bring enough water to school for the day. Water fountains are closed and there will be limited opportunities to refill water bottles at this time. PERSONAL ITEMS - Personal items are to be left at home. Anything that you bring to school needs to return home at the end of the day. This includes indoor shoes. We don't want anyone growing out of their shoes should we have to close again (fingers crossed this doesn't happen). Be sure the indoor shoes return the next day. This will be more important once the weather begins to change. ATTENDANCE ON FIRST DAY - When students arrive to school on the bus, they are to stay seated until a Bobcat staff member enters the bus and directs students to find their teacher once off the bus. For those students who are being dropped off, please park on Furnival Road and walk your student to the front of the school. A Bobcat staff member will meet you there and direct your student to where their teacher is. Incase you need a reminder, we are here for you and your students! Call us anytime with your questions, concerns or comments. Rest up and get ready for a great year!

Good Afternoon Bobcat Community We hope you are doing well and staying safe. The countdown is on for the first day of school! Many of you likely heard from your student’s teacher this week. We hope that that will help settle some uncertainty about the upcoming school year and a familiar face to look for during the first day of school. Just a reminder that students who have the last name starting with letters A-J, your student will attend Monday and Tuesday. If your stud...Continue reading

Hello Parents/Guardians; We hope this email finds you well as you prepare your children for our Return to Learn! We are excited to see all the smiling faces and rebuild those relationships with our community of learners. This message has 4 important points for families. More information will be shared throughout the week. Communication - We understand there is a lot of information being sent by both the board, the provincial government and the school. It is vitally important ...that you read our emails carefully as we are trying our best to create a safe return for your children. If there are questions, please feel free to call the school. Drop Off Routines - In order to keep all students safe and to recognize the importance of physical distancing on school grounds we have developed a plan for those parents that wish to drive their children to school. All parents must park on Furnival Road. The front parking lot will be empty, for safety reasons. Parents can accompany students to the front parking lot where a staff member will be present. Parents can say their goodbyes here. Students will walk along the sidewalk at the side of the school to the backyard and proceed to their class lines. Staff will be in the backyard to support. Pick Up Routines - All parking will be on Furnival Road. All classes will be called, individually, to make their way to the bus. For students in that class that are being picked up, they will walk to the office and wait. Parents that are picking up their children will wait in the front parking lot. Mrs. Stover will call students from the front hall to meet you outside in the front parking lot. Dismissal is at 3:30. If you are coming early to pick up for an appointment please call the school ahead of time so we can prepare your child for dismissal. When you arrive at the school call again so we can send your child out to meet you. Parent Portal - Please check your parent portal to confirm we have the correct address, email and phone numbers. If there are any errors, please mark as incorrect and email the school account with the correct information at [email protected] Thank you!

Families of students who are attending In-person Learning are required to complete a Student Health Agreement by September 14. View the agreement and the #COVID19 Screening Checklist at http://tvdsb.ca/SHA.

Aldborough P.S. 29.03.2020

Dear Parents/Guardians, Today you should have received an email from the Thames Valley DSB regarding a requirement for all families sending their children to in-person learning to complete a Student Health Agreement. The agreement can be found in the parent portal and needs to be completed prior to September 14th, for each child attending in-person learning. Please read this agreement carefully as there are many important steps for you to take each day before sending your ch...ild to school. If you need a paper copy of the Student Health Agreement, please call, or email the school next week and we can have a copy printed for you. If you have any questions, please call or email the school. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Dear Parents/Guardians, As we approach the beginning of the school year we have been sending out periodic messages regarding new routines that have been put into place for the health & safety of staff and students. Today's message is regarding access to the school and First Day routines. Access to School:... As directed by the board, in consultation with the public health unit all doors at the school will be locked to prevent visitors from entering the building. If you have children in the Before and After School Program, they will be sending direction to you on how to sign students in and out from outside the school. If you need to come into the school, please follow the directions below. Call the school to make an appointment if you need to speak with someone. If you are arriving late, park your car, walk to the front doors, and call the school. A staff member will open the door and greet the students. Parents will not be allowed in the school. If you must pick up your children for a planned appointment or any other reason known beforehand, please call the school and let the office know the time you will be arriving. Upon arrival, call the school and we will send your children out the front doors to meet you. All signing in and out of students will be done electronically through Mrs. Bartlett. First Day Routine: We understand that the first day of school is a special time for families and often parents accompany students to school to take pictures and walk them to their classroom. Unfortunately, we must limit adults' access to school property to ensure the health & safety of all our students and staff. The driveway to the school will be blocked with no traffic allowed except for the school buses. If you do drive to the school, you can stop on Furnival Road and a staff member will escort your child to the back of the school where all students will be lining up keeping social distancing measures in mind. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding with these protocols. If you have any questions regarding these protocols please call the school.
