November 24 COVID-19 Update from AYSC Aldergrove Soccer has been working hard to assess our current COVID-19 protocols and programming, and following Dr. Bonnie Henry’s guidance to BC last week on restricting our interactions with others for a two week period, we are pausing all AYSC activities until after Monday November 30, 2020. We hope to return to the field shortly after this date, but we will reassess the COVID-19 situation in our community and the province at that time to determine next steps. Possible COVID-19 Exposure Notification Pause in AYSC Activities Shortly after sending out our revised protocols email this morning, we were informed of a possible case of COVID-19 within our membership. We are issuing this email to our entire Club to provide early notification that this individual attended the field on November 14, 2020 from 11:30 am 1:00 pm and November 16, 2020 from 7:00 pm 8:30 pm. AYSC COVID-19 Procedures Masks Expected AYSC takes the health and safety of all our players, coaches, referees and families, into the highest regard. Given the Fraser Health region has seen a significant increase in COVID-19 cases in recent weeks, we want to ensure our Club and community are doing everything we can to decrease transmissions.... In addition to the pause in competitive play announced earlier this week, AYSC is now expecting ALL parents / guardians wear masks at ALL times while participating in AYSC activities. A big thank you to Club members for bringing items for the Food Bank and donations of toys last Saturday! AYSC delivered two large boxes of food and many toys to the drive-through donation event at the Aldergrove Legion; in addition, the Club donated $500 cash. In total, the event raised over $4,000 and the Food Bank’s storage is packed to the brim, which will hopefully make the holiday season just a little brighter for some in our community.
