Meet Tavish Argenti! With almost a decade as a practicing Pedorthist C.Ped(C), Tavish has been evolving in the Align Clinician role for the past 3 months with us. Tavish has a sincere passion for helping people, continual learning, and opportunities to educate.Her specialty areas are pediatrics with a keen interest in lower limb & gait biomechanics. She appreciates the unique opportunities with Align, to get to their root cause of biomechanic issues, and to encompass lives ...more holistically with wellness, inclusive of fashion footwear. She's alsodeveloped a new love of the Align circuit of holistic foot health, integrating Clinic, Boutique, and Spa. Tavish’s interest in Pedorthics started in her Kinesiology undergraduate career at the University of Waterloo, when she was involved in gait retraining for children with cerebral palsy. She used her knowledge in biomechanics, gait, and functional anatomy to find creative solutions. She has always been passionate about education. During her career, she has been a practicum supervisor in the Western Pedorthics program, and instructor for the Western Pedorthics program in the Functional Lower Limb Anatomy and Gait Mechanics course. It is with this enthusiasm that she serves on the Board of Directors for the Pedorthic Association of Canada, with a role in promoting the Pedorthic profession to students. She is passionate that Pedorthics has a great opportunity for public awareness so that more people can benefit from this healthcare modality. I dont work like that I f...ind it immoral to do so. . Ive always believed in an idea of timeless elegance, and making clothes that suggest only one way to buy them: that they last over time. For the same reason I find it absurd that in the middle of winter in boutiques, there are linen clothes and in summer, alpaca coats, for the simple reason that the desire to buy must be satisfied immediately. Who buys clothes to put them in a closet waiting for the right season to wear them? No one, or a few, I think. But this system, driven by department stores, has become the dominant mentality. . Wrong. We have to change, this has to stop. This crisis is a wonderful opportunity to slow everything down, to realign everything, to draw more authentic and true Horizon. No more specularization, no more waste. For three weeks Ive been working with my teams to ensure that after the lockdown, the summer collections remain in the boutiques until the beginning of September, as is natural. In the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, WE ARE OPEN for now and reassessing our part in stopping the spread, daily. . While initially extremely worried, we thought, would it help to be closed for a little while? So we took a hard look and realized the level of hygiene at our foot health clinic is truly a controlled environment and very different than going to the grocery store, for example! We decided to stay open yesterday as a final test. Heres what we found: .... 1. Aligns 6 #healthystaff are the first to be pre-screened and are all in good health so far. The clinic is completely medical grade #disinfected CHECKPOINT 1- start the day germ free. . 2. All appointments are pre-screened prior by email, phone, then a 3rd time upon welcome; slipping our valued guest into sanitized #vionic slippers, offering #sanitizer and advised of #socialdistancing and #footshake only! We not only realized that were #obsessive, but also that people DIDNT MIND; and were actually #appreciative of our measures. Visitors who came to browse were pre-screened at the door, explained they could not stay long- just a quick personal tour, info and invited to phone to book in. CHECKPOINT 2- no germs in- no problem yet. . 3. Since we are limiting appointments in Aligns private treatment rooms to only 2 bookings at a time, there is limited exposure to other people at all times. Everyone was respectful of social distancing. CHECKPOINT 3- limiting interaction between guests - all were respectful of #socialdistancing space boundaries. . 4. We did not feel offensive as we normally might - to disinfect immediately after each client touches the debit machine, front door handle, counters. We use medical grade, virus-killing disinfectants on surfaces, floors- anything that could come into contact with touch or cough. Per the photo, our processes are medical-grade hygienic!
