Older style category one ICG furnace back in action on a cold winter night. After replacing a thermocouple that hadnt been changed since 1993 to get it going and swapping out a belt that was in rough shape, this furnace fired up extremely well at very little cost to the customer. Combustion analysis with the Testo analyzer proved it was safe to run and over 77% efficient! (Standing efficiency.) The owner of this home will be warm and safe this winter without breaking the bank and will get to keep their older equipment for at least another heating season. For service, replacements, or upgrades on your existing heating systems or any sort of plumbing or heating services call or text 780 882-4286. Certified Journeyman Plumber/Gasfitter B. Excellent service, excellent rates. "Old or new, we keep it burning blue"

Did something a little different Friday evening. My plumber was having trouble finding the source of a leak from a shower and asked me to use my thermal camera ...to see if I could help. Between ruling out different parts of the shower with the camera and talking it through with each other we were able to figure out where the leak was coming from. Felt good to help out a professional that has given me advice and knowledge many times for inspection and my own projects. Need a plumber, gas fitter, furnace whisperer give Mark Allan with Allan's Plumbing & Heating GP a call.

After much hard work by many good people, this master ensuite bathroom reno draws to a a close. Many other additional jobs completed including a spin down filter, rebuilt shower valves in the other bathrooms, as well as new washing machine valves. Special thank you to Mary Nasedkin and her family for choosing me to take on this project. Also a HUGE shoutout to the other talented individuals that helped me to complete this rather fine bathroom for a very fair price. Big shout ...out to Jason Tyler Kushneryk with Blaze Plumbing and Heating for bringing a keen residential eye and a ton of experience and hard work to the job to compliment my skill set and work ethic, to Christa Youngman of Youngman electric for providing the electrical and Vince Cardinal of Excelleration Contracting for providing the tile, taping, painting, wainscoting, trim work, flooring and a ton of great ideas to this job. You have all really helped me make this homeowners house a LOT better and it makes me feel amazing to make one of my first clients happy. See more

With all the rain we have been having recently, the calls to replace sump pumps or retrofit existing buildings with sump pits has been out of control. We have also been installing a ton of new backwater valves on combined city sewer systems to protect homeowners from rain water backup. Special thanks to Grant Wagner for helping me turn this place into a flood free zone and for doing an awesome job on the concrete finishing. Big shout out to Service Master Restore for helping put this basement back together, and last but not least, the homeowners for their patience and being excellent people to do work for. If you're having issues with your basement flooding, or any other plumbing or gasfitting tasks need completed around your place, feel free to call or text 780 882-4286

Out with the old, in with the new! Finally replaced my 11 year old hot water tank that I helped install here at home before I even became a journeyman! Reworked the entire cold main too (and most of the hot) with all new type L copper including a main shut off valve and two new valves on the tank plus all new venting. Special thank you to Wolseley mechanical for hooking me up with Bradford White for an awesome price and just being stellar individuals in general! Huge shout ou...t to Matt Ferguson for giving me a wicked deal and knowing your stuff, Jenni Whyte for being on the ball with the additional fittings I needed, and overall being a super personable employee, Ryan Theisen for giving me kick ass advice and always making me laugh every day, and Ashley O'Toole for being an awesome person to deal with at the Wolseley counter and helping me save the day for half of GP. Also huge thumbs up to all my past Journeymen for teaching me what I know today and training me to be a picky perfectionist and do professional installs every day, whether its mine or for someone else. Good for many more years now, preventative maintenance saves yet another flooded basement. See more

The beep that saves lives! Came home from a late night service call only to hear my carbon monoxide detector alarming for threshold levels of CO in my own home. Went to the furnace room and performed a combustion analysis on my furnaces and hot water tank and found the hot water tank to be the culprit. I had been so busy servicing other peoples equipment, I had neglected to take care of my own. Looks like ill be cleaning the FVIR screen on my hot water tank and possibly replacing it tomorrow. Testo 310 combustion analyzer wins again. Make sure you have a carbon monoxide detector installed in or near the mechanical room and also near any sleeping areas! I am sure glad I did!

Due to this never ending stream of dumb memes...and never ending supply of burst garden hose faucets, I decided to make a meme of my own. Remember to take your hoses off in the fall, if youve got a split hose faucet, feel free to call or text 780 882-4286

As the heating season comes to an end, it definitely doesn't hurt to have your gas burning appliances serviced by a qualified professional. This old 1958 "Palm Aire" forced air furnace still runs like a dream today! Also got to service a late 70s lennox furnace that passed all test with flying colours. It just goes to show that reliable, older heating equipment is great to run as long as it is in safe operating condition. These units can provide dependable operation for so ma...ny years, Its absolutely amazing! Any fuel burning appliance will benefit from having a combustion analysis done to it, the results of minor adjustments can go a long way.Services offered include full combustion analysis, gas line and burner manifold pressure tests, carbon monoxide test throughout the home, and testing of any electrical components of the equipment as needed. Feel free to message, or call or text 780 882-4286 for more details. See more

Finally got a chance to post these pictures of a late night tankless water heater re and re. Rheem on the top right had a leak in the heat exchanger so I swapped it out for this nice new Navien npe-180s. Customer is happy with the install and everything looks great in the end so I can rest easy with the quality of my work. If you would like to discuss the idea of on demand hot water in your home feel free to send me a message or call or text 780 882-4286.

I haven't done a thaw post in a while so I figured I should post some thaw pictures from the last cold snap. Important things to remember: keep the herman nelson heaters far away from the vinyl skirting...these heaters run very hot and need to be constantly monitored. Another important thing is to keep a very accurate personal carbon monoxide detector both on your person and in the living space during the thaw. I can provide temporary heat safely and for a reasonable price plus find the issue that caused the freeze up. 780 882-4286. I have a selection of different sized heaters to meet your application!

Little bit of late night rheem water heater action from last week. Special thank you to the homeowner for going out and purchasing a tank...and lugging it down the stairs and disposing of the old one. Makes my life so much easier and drops some coin off the bill so a win win for everyone! I don't mind working but I love saving people money!!

I love this mechanical room! The 1967 inter city furnace is in immaculate shape and I keep it well tuned up. Today it got a new humidifier. Also removed some old leaky globe valves, all for a really good price. This customer uses my services repeatedly and likes my work, which makes me really happy. She is also a very nice person and its enjoyable to spend time with her, her roommate and the two awesome dogs who also live there. Overall, a good day. Now im off to fix some furnaces!

Nice clean commercial utility sink install I did for Fired Up Hearthworks and Homes. The new location is really starting to look closer to a finished product each time I work there. I really enjoy running copper waterlines and taking pride in neat work. Special thanks to John Reimer and Collette Reimer (can't seem to tag her on here for some reason) for choosing me to do this job. This copper will be conveying water with no trouble for many years to come!
