As part of our event showcase series, we are featuring this wedding at Kelowna Mountain. The site was spectacular perched on top of a mountain overlooking Okanagan lake. The 6,000 square foot tented area provided room for both the reception as well as two separate lounge areas. We were on site for several days for set-up. One memorable moment for our crew was when the facilities generator tripped prior to the guests arriving causing a mass reset of all the LED lighting (not s...o conveniently located behind the ceiling drape). Even with all the furniture in place and the tables set, our onsite team managed to pull it off and we were ready to go moments before the guests arrived. The weather was absolutely stunning for the wedding and it was an unforgettable day. Heading into 2021 we look forward to creating a future full of joy and new memories, after all in the Event Rental Business ... that is what we do. As part of our event showcase series, we are featuring this Gala Fundraiser for Imagine One Day International. The event took place at a private residence in in the Point Grey neighborhood of Vancouver. The site provided some challenges: it measured 4’ narrower than the tent, there was a hedge we would need to go over, leading to a steep heavily landscaped bank. In addition, we were in wind prone location on the edge of the ocean with soil conditions that ranged from soggy co...astal to mulch. We were 5 hours from home and thus unable to do a physical site inspection, but we did a lot of planning and critical thinking prior to the big day. When the date arrived, we felt prepared and headed out for our adventure. Upon arrival we assessed the job then while part of the team started on construction of the platforms on the bank over the hedge, others worked on layout. We had brought specialized items to deal with the known and the unforeseen such as special stakes to deal with potentially soft coastal soil and platforms with adjustable height legs to level out the slope and provide a secure base for the tent’s legs. As you can imagine there are many stories that are untold in this condensed post, but to summarize we were in on time, the night raised a lot of money for the charity and the client had the following to say about the event: It was such a pleasure working with you and your team in preparation and during this event. Thank you SO much for pulling off a mammoth and challenging installation, and for enduring that miserable rain the following day to take it all down. I’ve been doing events in Vancouver for a long time and it was pretty awesome to finally use a good-looking tent!! This wedding is part of our event showcase series and took place at a private residence in Kelowna, BC. We were hired by the amazing team at Lynn Fletcher Weddings and the set-up took a week to complete. The highlights include: a 3200 square foot entrance tent, installed over a large fountain that became part of the décor. A reception tent, which had a pool situated in a prime part of the seating area. By installing a 1000 sq ft floor over the pool, we transformed it into an ...elevated lounge area which was then covered by the reception tent. All tent ceilings, legs and rigging where draped with sheer white fabric. The bride requested a starry nights ceiling, which we created with almost 3000 ft of mini lights used to back light the tent draping. Some other fun projects included a band tent which was installed on the sand, atop of an elevated platform, private draped seating areas with furniture and lighting the list is long. Our hard work paid off in the end, the clients were thrilled and the wedding won two prestigious awards: Best Wedding Creative in Canada at the Canadian Event Industry Awards & the prestigious ILEA (International Live Events Association) Award. Other industry professionals included A New Leaf Floral Design, Brodo Kitchen and Lime Light Studios. Madison + Nav’s wedding day was originally planned as a full weekend event. As is the case with most weddings this year, things changed. In it’s place was a 10+... guest intimate lakeside wedding that the word perfect could not quite describe it well enough. From a distance, they included an outdoor visit to granny at her home, a live stream ceremony/reception and a drive-by cocktail reception to include more friends and family. What a world we now live in! And I loved every aspect of the day. There’s so much more to share in their highlight film but for now... enjoy a tease from Madison + Nav’s wedding day.
