Yes. Our town has suffered a tremendous loss. Monte Donland Moorcroft Friday March 5th 2021... MOORCROFT , Monte Donland It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monte at the Trenton Memorial Hospital on Friday, March 5th, 2021. Monte of Stirling and formerly of Madoc and Belleville, was in his 87th year. Loving son of the late George and Mary Moorcroft. Beloved husband of 36 years to Joan Moorcroft. Dear father to Cindy Fielding and her husband Chris, Sylvia Waters and her husband Alex, Cheryl Fallis and her partner Efren Gallardo, and Stephen Fallis. Proud grandfather to Danielle and Michael Waters, and Darwin Gallardo. Survived by his siblings Marlene Richardson and her late husband Grant, and Boyd Moorcroft and his wife June. Predeceased by his eldest brother Thomas Moorcroft and his late wife Kathleen. One of Monte’s many passions was being apart of the A.O.T.S. Men’s Club, and singing with the Millpond Chorus and St. Paul’s United Church Choir. The family will receive friends at the Stirling Funeral Chapel 87 James St., Stirling on Thursday, March 11th, 2021 from 2-4 & 7-9p.m. The following restrictions will be adhered to; masks are mandatory, social distancing will be maintained, no gatherings in the parking lot and if you plan on attending visitation you must call the funeral home at (613-395-2424) between the hours of 9:00 5:00p.m. to reserve a time slot of 20 minutes as we are limited for capacity. A private family service will be held in the chapel. A Public Celebration of Monte’s Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Stirling Towers Retirement Residence would be appreciated by the family. To leave a condolence, please visit

Extended hours this Valentine's. February 12 to February 14th. We will be open from 9 to 6 pm. There will be no monkeying around with our safety restrictions which is only 4 wallets allowed in the store at one time. Thanks and I hope to see you.
With the upcoming "Re-Opening" of small businesses dangled over our heads like a carrot to a very hungry rabbit, I can't help but feel some impending doom....li...ke the other shoe is gonna drop. You see, I heard it said today by an individual of the community "I will not be supporting the local economy any time soon". Meaning, they only shop Big Box stores that are deemed "safe". Those words have been rolling around in my head all morning. So, it got me thinking that perhaps small business HAS been shut down too long, so long in fact that folks are starting to actually see us as "unsafe"and not viable. We not only have governmental sanctions to hurdle, but now I feel some of the community also see us that way which was something I can honestly say I never saw coming! Say it isn't so?! Support local all the way back to success for there is only so much we can do "online" and "curbside"! Your town will thrive, your local economy will thrive, you won't have empty storefronts and the benefits of a strong, local business sector are immeasurable. Please remember, you are where you live! Merry Christmas Eve to all our lovely clients and their families I hope your Christmas is filled with love and warmth
Ontario is ordering a Provincewide Shutdown requiring Ontarians to stay at home as much as possible to stop the spread of Covid-19. Unfortunately we are not an essential service or business and are required to close down during this time. We will have to cancel any appointments booked between Dec26 - Jan23 until further notice.. ... We hope to reopen once restrictions have lifted but we honestly cannot say for sure when or if that can happen. Please stay safe and healthy and be kind. I will miss you all, its been a pleasure treating you all and being apart of this community for as long as I have. Thank you Shannon
