Dear Members, Halifax ALTA Gymnastics Club will be holding recruiting sessions for the Boys Developmental Program for the 2020-2021 year on September 13th and 20th, 2020. If accepted into the developmental program, classes would begin in September 2020. This program emphasizes technique, structure, and skill development, and requires a time commitment. If you are interested in having your son evaluated, please see below for details regarding the recruiting sessions and the d...evelopmental program. Attending a recruiting session does not guarantee your son will be selected to join the program. 2020-2021 Recruiting Sessions: 8:00-8:25 am Boys born 2014 & 2015 8:35-9:00 am Boys born 2014 & 2015 9:10-9:35 am Boys born 2013 or earlier Classes for 2014 & 2015 birth year boys run on Sunday from 8:00-9:45 am Monthly fees for this group is $96.00 per month. Classes for 2013 or earlier birth year boys run on Sunday 8:00-9:45 am and Thursday 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Monthly fees for this group is $144.00 per month. In addition to the monthly training fees, there is an annual Gymnastics Nova Scotia Fee of $39.00 and an annual ALTA fee of $12.00. Try Out Cost: $20.00 per athlete trying out, paid during registration via the online system only. Registration: To register for the evaluation, please log into your account via our website. There is a maximum of 6 athletes per recruiting session. If you do not have an account, please create one.

Congratulations to Ellie Black and David Kikuchi who were named finalists for the Support4Sport Awards! As per the attached release, Ellie is a finalist for Senior Female Athlete of the Year and David is a finalist for Coach of the Year! All winners will be announced this evening at 6pm through video on the Sport Nova Scotia social media channels. https://bit.ly/3bkPXOM Provincial Sport Organization winners will also be posted in a slideshow that NS Gaming is creating. Congratulations Jeremy and Jordyn! for being nominated for the senior male athlete of the year and junior female athlete of the year and also to Ellie Black and David Kikuchi who were named finalists for the Support4Sport Awards! GNS Senior Male athlete of the year! Gymnastics ~ Jeremy Bartholomeusz... Jeremy was named to Team Canada for the 2019 FISU University Games. The Halifax gymnast, who studies neuroscience at Dalhousie, came ninth out of 52 competitors in the all-around category. The FISU Games were attended by some of the top gymnasts in the world. Jeremy is among the top all-around athletes in Canada and a training partner for local gymnastics legend Ellie Black. GNS Junior Female Athlete of the Year Gymnastics ~ Jordyn Ewing Jordyn is only the second female from Nova Scotia to gain high performance senior status. She competed at the Elite Canada event in February, finishing 13th out of 34 in all-around. The result allowed her to compete in the Gymnix Challenge later in the season. It marked Jordyn’s second time attending Gymnix, an international meet. As per the attached release, Ellie is a finalist for Senior Female Athlete of the Year and David is a finalist for Coach of the Year! Due to the rapidly increasing information regarding the COVID-19 situation, Gymnastics Nova Scotia is suspending all gymnastics related activities until further notice. This includes all training and competitions. ALTA will be updating our membership as information comes in regarding the duration of the suspension and resumption of activities.
