Alyssa's Music Studio 31.12.2020

Our first mini recital of the year was a success! We met via zoom, and students played some pieces and also had the chance to play some musical games together. Thanks to everyone who could make it!

Thanks to the students who joined me for today’s online mini recital. It was fun to hear everyone’s music today, thank you for sharing. We ended off the concert with a couple of rounds of rhythm bingo. The match ended as a tie between Brainy the octopus and Puffy the puffin!

In case students were missing getting to see the kitties, this one was supervising my teaching from her favourite napping spot tonight!

Learning to listen is an important skill for musician. Since January we've been keeping track of how many ear training games we've done in the studio by adding marbles to a jar. Online lessons are a great time to try out new ear training games, so we've earned many marbles for our jar this week!

Brainy counted his pennies today! This year, students earned 20 dollars for the food bank. Brainy is very proud of students for doing so much practicing for the studio this year. Donations were matched, so in total brainy had $40 to spend at the grocery store. Here's a few pictures of Brainy's adventure - students will get to see the whole set of photos when they return for lessons in January. Congrats to students on all their hard work this year!
