RMTs are allowed to stay open during the Lockdown! Please read the info below, thoroughly With the start of Ontario’s second Provincial Emergency and Stay-at-Home order in effect, should I be continuing with my Massage Therapy treatment?... Ontarians should be staying at home with the exception of essential trips, like picking up groceries or going to medical appointments. When is Massage Therapy Essential? Ask yourself these questions and/or communicate with your RMT: Will my condition worsen without treatment (e.g. physical symptoms associated with mental health, acute pain/injury, chronic unstable condition)? Am I likely to suffer acute, severe or imminent harm if treatment is delayed (e.g. unstable chronic condition, new symptoms requiring a physical exam)? Am I at high risk to experience severe outcomes if I contract COVID-19 (e.g. asthmatic, diabetes, immune compromised, over age 65)? Bear in mind that our current community risk of transmission is HIGH, in Niagara, Ontario. If the risk of COVID-19 to the client and RMT is higher then the expected benefit of treatment, the RMT may delay treatment until the community risk decreases. Massage Therapy also has three of five key factors associated with transmission: Close Contact Closed Spaces Prolonged Exposure The other two factors are: Forceful Exhalation and Crowded Places. We continue to implement all of our infection prevention and control guidelines to keep our clinic space as safe as we can and minimize risk of transmission. If you’d like to be contacted by me regarding your upcoming appointment to help you determine if in-person treatment is the best option for your on-going care during these unprecedented times, please let me know as soon as possible. NOTICE There has been, and continuing to be loud noises from the roof, due to it being worked on. For any of my patients on Friday, Saturday, next Monday and next Wednesday, if you would prefer not to hear excessive loud noises and possible smell from tar, and other products used above us, PLEASE reschedule. You will not be reprimanded or made to pay any last minute cancellation fees. It can be highly disruptive, and I know many people are sensitive to sound and/or smells. ...Send me a phone call or message right away if you’d rather reschedule and I’ll put you in at a time that works best for the both of us. I apologize for the inconvenience, but we both know it’s probably not going to be the treatment you’re expecting given the outside issues. Happy January 2021! With the new year just beginning, I wanted to give ya’ll my availability for Jan. As it says in the post, I am only at the clinic for the first couple of weeks because I have to take 2 weeks off to care for my dog after a serious surgery. I will be back the beginning of Feb with a full month of availability if you cannot make it early this month.
