My landlord stopped by the shop yesterday and played a little tune

I have mixed feelings about this machine. I'm very happy to have it, but I'm sad that the reason I had the opportunity to get it is the Awl Shoppe closing. With the help of family, I was able to purchase it. I spent many years working with and around this machine. I repaired my first shoe in 1983. I'm not sure if it was 1983 or 1984 that I used this machine to stitch my first sole onto a shoe. To me it's like finding my dream car to restore. It's considered to be the Cadillac of sole stitchers in the shoe repair industry, the Sutton Landis Rapid E. I'm not sure what the future plans are for the Awl Shoppe reopening, but I am hopeful that whatever they figure out will be successful.
