If I've been quiet about posting these days, it's because I'm in the thick of learning how to hang out with the kids full time on summer break for the first time ever. Last summer, my husband wasn't working and so it was all hands on deck. This year, many less hands I've been working my *various* jobs at the crack of dawn, or in the evenings. Trying to find a balance has been hard so far - but figuring it out as we go! What do you do with your kids in the summer time? And where do you find time for your own responsibilities?

Anyone else feel like this month has been 82 days long? As a person who watches the news ALL THE TIME, I found my brain on overload lately. Grateful that crochet not only helps me financially during these times, but also is my number one anxiety reducer. Because we all know, I'm not turning off the news anytime soon

To quote my own post from January 1st, 2020 - "2020 is going to be a great year - I can just FEEL it". So, obviously my gut instincts aren't that great. So, to avoid embarrassment again next year, in a true Dwight Shrute form, this year I'll leave you with this gut feeling statement. "It is 2021".

The new year is around the corner, and I (along with almost the whole planet) am ready to say goodbye to 2020. Every year, I have an idea of what I want to do with my business - last years plans went right into the garbage can and I had to pivot big time from what my original plans were. Summer seems to be quickly saying goodbye to us, and I'm starting to brainstorm how to handle a pandemic in cold weather. So far, I've decided I need to invest in better outdoor clothing and get our patio heater working for the backyard so that I am willing to be outside with the girls more. What are your strategies with staying sane when the cold weather hits during a global pandemic?? Help a girl out!!

Did I bring one of Kyla's ice cream rattles to the river just to take a photo and make a point? Maaaaaaybe.... One of the most commonly asked questions about my crochet animals and toys is "are they washable?" As a mom of tiny people, I promise you I wouldn't sell you something that couldn't be washed. Handwash, or put in the washing machine on a DELICATE CYCLE.... when that's done, squeeeeeze the excess water out. Re-shape the animal or toy if needed, and lay flat to dry. Good as new!

In the meaningful words from Agnus Gru..."HE'S SO FLUFFY, I'M GONNA DIE". #ifyouknowyouknow I've never had these squishy dudes listed in my shop, as the colours of blanket yarn that is available always changes as the seasons change. Although I don't want to admit it, the Christmas shopping season is just around the corner. This is the first time in years I won't be selling at markets. With most markets canceled or online, will you be doing your shopping mostly online or in retail spots?

So the silver lining of a world pandemic and my husband not working was that we had 3 months of time together at home with the girls. We never would have had the chance to spend this much time together otherwise, and the girls got so used to having Dad around too. But wish me luck because he started his new job today so I am on my own again during the day! Grateful for some amazing weather this week - what are you up to this week?

It's been awhile since I have actually showed my face on my feed. The world is a heavy place these days and sometimes I just don't know what to post. So, with some of you new to my page, I figured I would do some fast facts on a Friday night like a true Mom who crochets for fun would. Human Being edition. Buckle up! I am a Libra. And that makes me a passionate peacekeeper, empath, and also means I am not great at confrontation. That being said, I am extremely passionate abo...ut human rights, BLM, Indigenous rights, LGBTQ2+ rights, women's rights, I am pro-choice, and I feel that everyone deserves equality, respect, and a voice. Although confrontation makes me uncomfortable, I have spent the last few months speaking up way more than I did before to family, friends, and complete strangers on comment threads to stand up for those whose voices have been ignored or buried. I also believe that these beliefs are important to be voiced on my business platform. My crochet business is just me - sitting on my couch or computer making each one by hand. Business and personal beliefs go together, and I want you to know the real me when you purchase something. SO! Fun fact: as a kid, I was THE pickiest eater. Would not eat ANYTHING that was green. I really only stopped being picky when I moved out at 18, had no money, and decided I would eat anything that was available . Were you a picky eater? Or have picky kids?
