First day in my newly renovated home office. Wow. What a loooooong haul. It’s been over a year since I worked in this spot. I had no idea I would be working on the living room sofa for that long. Probably best, though, because if I had known, I probably would have cried. Ok, I definitely still cried anyways. But little by little ... by little ... we got it done! There’s still some fine tuning for sure like art, maybe a desk lamp, and a better rug for under my chair, but I’m in! Thank you @sunvalleycabinets for building me the most beautiful office cabinetry. Thank you @parksidehhbc for having the perfect flooring. Thank you to my Momma for refinishing that desk for me. And thank you to my hubby for convincing me to go for it and make my design a reality! Design and renovations really do take a village!

Thanks for all your sweet comments earlier this week on my last post. They were so appreciated! I’m feeling MUCH better. The sun is shining , the visiting restrictions have lessened a bit , and I’m sharing a glimpse of the ensuite at #awdprojecthespeler

This picture was captured on February 1st by my Mom ( Mama!). I’m surrounded by my husband, sister, brother-in-law and my beloved nephew! Taken a little over a month before the pandemic hit our province, we were blissfully unaware of the year that lied ahead. So much has happened this year, but one thing that hasn’t changed is the importance of family, friends and faith! Both my family and my husband’s family are so dear to me. With yesterday’s announcement, I was feeling more than a little discouraged to learn of the new restriction on any household gatherings - regardless of size. And YET... hope remains. Always. I was planning to work through today’s holiday, but instead, I will be soaking up time with family! This year, albeit hard, has made me all the more grateful for the loved ones in my life. To all of them: I love you

My hubby begged me to share a sneak peek today of these cushions that just arrived for a secret project we’ve been working on in our own home! I’m totally in love with the fabric we chose from @tonicliving and @top.stitch nailed the upholstery! Can’t wait to share more soon!

Organization... some of my favourite things about a change of season is the chance to recalibrate, refocus, and YES, reorganize! Our Mudroom/Laundry room design over at project #awdhespeler was all about that. We gave the space a reboot and completely changed the setup and functionality of the space. It was about making use of every square inch of this hardworking space! And let me tell you - what a difference! Custom millwork makes all the difference. It’s a splurge, but it... is so worthwhile. Every time! I can’t wait to have my own built-ins (two weeks in counting) to organize. Design: @amywaltersdesign Millwork: @sunvalleycabinets : @rhymeandrhythm.ca

Baby steps... Loving how this room is coming together.

As I’ve shared a number of finished projects lately, I thought it would be a good reminder to all of us that good things take time! Renovations and new builds, alike, require lots of patience, planning and time! We’ve been working on this condo for just over a year now, and only today are furniture pieces being installed. If you’re thinking of renovating or building, and are interested in working together, reach out early! We are booked up for the rest of 2020, but if you’d like to work together in 2021, you can email us at [email protected] to discuss if your project is the right fit. Thank you to all of you who are supporting my business and this dream of mine!

I loved how we squeezed in a little reno of the clients main floor bathroom. It wasn’t part of the initial scope, but once the Mudroom / Laundry room next door was getting a face lift, it was hard not to give a little love to this room as well! We repurposed and relocated this Sun Valley Cabinets’ vanity from the en suite and sprayed a warm off-white! New hardware and this gorgeous countertop from Caesarstone really brought it to life! After a very busy first week back from holidays, I am about ready to curl up with a good book, blanket and all the cute cushions! Thankful it’s Friday! Design + : @amywaltersdesign

A view from the other side of #awdhighpoint That beautiful wool rug was the starting point of the room. The clients were willing to wait months for it come back on stock. Well worth the wait. Happy Friday Friends.

So excited to be sharing this project! We spent about 10 months decorating this home! We took our time. Waited for the right pieces to come along at the right price. And the result is something I am so thrilled with! Thank you @tesslerova for being such an amazing client and for trusting my vision! And thank you Jeremy for your perfectionism and stellar carpentry skills! Design + : @amywaltersdesign

Getting those project photos is tough work you guys! But I am working hard behind the scenes trying to line up photoshoots in the coming weeks and months! I snuck a Photoshoot in just before Covid-19 hit in full force. Just finished editing the main floor pics and updated the website with a NEW PROJECT!!! I’ll be posting pics over the coming weeks, but hop on over to the website for the first look!

Well hello! After a 7 month blogging hiatus, I’m back with a new post I’ve been trying to find the words to say, and I finally decided to talk about REST. It’s amazing how something so simple can be so hard for us, and now we’re all in this forced season of rest. Sharing my thoughts (and this little pic of my new bedding) on the blog! https://www.amywaltersdesign.com//a-time-to-work-and-a-tim
