Its an even tougher time for our BIPoC community who face daily injustices, systemic racism and discrimination. This was a sentiment echoed over and over again at a Black Lives Matter event this past Saturday. People of whiteness, lets publicly support our Black, Brown and Indigenous community! At this time of worldwide protest for racial justice, it feels inappropriate to self promote. Were having a virtual music festival this weekend. Many of our students are the same age as the black teens who were arrested and beaten for jaywalking in Tulsa. In the words of Dr. Angela Davis In a racist society it is not enough to be non-racist. We must be anti-racist

We were so happy to be able to have a battle of the bands on Zoom for all of our students last night. We are so privileged to be able to do what we do. Last nights event was dedicated to Breonna Taylor, to bring awareness to what is happening in the US and the International Black Lives Matter movement.
