Wednesday, June 20 is "World Refugee Day" for this occasion "Le Compas" in collaboration with Association communautaire francophone de Saint-Jean is showing in French the movie "The Good Lie" (ENG SUBTITLES AVAILABLE), at the Theater of the French Community Center, located at 65 Ridge Rd.... It starts at 7 pm (110 mins) and will be followed by a short time of open discussion with our special guest.

***The African Network Association is LOOKING FOR PARTICIPANTS of ALL AGES for an AFRICAN FASHION SHOW*** For The Tombolo festival, on July 10th, at the Art and culture center. We are aiming on showing the diversity of our dear continent through different attires representing ALL PARTS of Africa; Babies, children, teens, men, women, couples, families ... All are welcome!!!... If you or you know of someone that would be interested in participating, don't hesitate to CALL/TEXT Celia at 709-763-5757 (evenings are better for calls). CALL OF INTEREST for participating in BOTH/OR: - A dance on stage - on a medley of songs from all parts of Africa, from north to south, through central to west and east. We would like to showcase the diversity of our continent through our dances and music. - a fashion show where people of all age and status (20 max) will be dress in traditional attires again to show the diversity of our continent. babies, families, couples, singles, men, women, teens, children .... All are we...lcomed. These are to be showcased at Canada day celebrations at the confederation building (July 1st) & the Tombolo multicultural festival (July 10th) Send your interest and questions at [email protected] with the subject Application to the dance and/or participate in the fashion show, with your country and a picture of the attire if you have. If you don't feel comfortable participating but are willing to help coordinating, choreographing and/or lending the attires ... your help is very much welcomed. Please in order to be fair we will accept from each part of Africa s if we have let's say 20 applicants from Congo and one from Algeria we can't accept only the Congolese as our goal is to show case as much cultures as we can. In that case only the 1st applicant from each countries will be selected. Thank you for you understanding and help.
