The Social Planning Council - Conseil de planification sociale of/de Sudbury has lauched a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $10,000.00 for the Community Emergency Fund (CEF) - https://www.gofundme.com/SPCS-CEF. 100% of funds collected go to the individuals and families in crisis! This fund is a fund of last resort that helps support individuals and families in urgent need with food, heat, hydro, rent, prescriptions, transportation, assistance with moving, dental work, s...torage fees and special request. When individuals in the community have nowhere else to turn, The Community Emergency Fund is there to help. For example, the Community Emergency Fund is utilized in situations where the hydro is going to be turned off, a family with young children has exhausted their food bank allotment, or an eviction notice has been given. In the past 10 years the Community Emergency Fund has disbursed over $100,000.00 to vulnerable individuals and families in crisis. The Community Emergency Fund has been in existence for 20 years making it our 20th anniversary. The fund is administered in kind through the SPCS and is funded through community donations. With continuous support from the members of the community and events such as the Stone Soup Luncheon, the SPCS is able to raise funds to help assist those less fortunate and help make a difference in their lives. A charitable receipt is available to donors donating a minimum of $20.00 and more. Please help share this post and donate if you can!
