**A Very Important Message to Ottawa Pet Families** Effective today, clients are no longer permitted in the hospital. We are still open 24/7 to care for your pet.... Our team is committed to protecting our clients and staff from the outbreak of COVID-19 while we continue to provide emergency and specialty services. We want you to know that the Ottawa Animal Emergency and Specialty Hospital remains open for emergency and urgent specialty care. We continue to be here for you and your pets. On arrival, we will be welcoming clients to check in with our Reception team and proceed to wait in their vehicles with their pet until it is time to be assessed by a veterinarian. Veterinarians will be contacting clients by phone during the exam and will create a treatment plan this way. Extenuating ...circumstances will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, and you may also be asked to wait exclusively in an exam room. For your own well being, and to ensure we can provide emergency care to those pets that need it, please do not come to our emergency service for non-urgent medical care. We are also asking that clients come individually (do not bring the whole family or other pets), and let us know before entering the hospital if they have any symptoms or are at an elevated risk. Our priority is to protect both clients and our staff from transmission of Covid-19. By implementing protocols such as these, we aim to provide a safe environment for everyone involved and still provide care for your pet. We will be closely monitoring any further information provided by the government and will continue making updates via our social media.
