As of July 11, 2021 Arcola Family Health Clinic will follow the same guidelines as Saskatchewan Health Authority Facilities. This means when you enter AFHC or outposts in Lampman, Wawota and Stoughton you will still be expected to: 1. Wear a medical grade face mask for the duration of your visit; 2. Answer the COVID-19 screening questions honestly and to the best of your ability; 3. Continue to be kind and respectful to everyone. Abusive language and actions will not be tol...erated in our clinic(s). These guidelines will be assessed regularly.

We have been happy to do our best to accommodate our patients with the addition of phone appointments with the doctors. Please remember that these are booked appointment times and when you do not answer you are missing your appointment. Due to the high number of missed phone appointments, effective July 1, 2021 we will be implementing a new policy. If a patient misses a phone appointment, the next appointment must be booked as an in person visit.

COVID-19 Testing Anyone can be tested in Saskatchewan. This testing helps contain and delay the spread of COVID-19 within our communities. Testing individuals who do not have symptoms ensure we keep ourselves and our communities healthy as we return to work and play. You require a referral before arrival at a testing site. Assessment and Treatment sites for COVID-19 have been established across the province. These sites provide in-person intermediate care, assessment and treatment for individuals with escalating symptoms consistent with COVID-19, those confirmed positive with COVID-19 who have other health conditions or those in self-isolation due to travel or a public health directive. The intent of these sites is to reduce in person visits to Emergency Rooms, other primary care clinics and physician clinics. All patients require a referral before arrival. Due to the Saskatchewan Health Authority's pandemic planning, which includes the closing of Arcola Health Centre's Emergency Department and the conversion of it's acute care beds to Alternate Level of Care, the physicians at the Arcola Family Health Clinic have been posted to perform On Call Emergency services in Kipling and Redvers. There will be some disruptions in AFHC's scheduling; both in Arcola and in our outpost clinics, but we will do our best to accommodate all patie...nt needs. We are continuing with telephone consultations where appropriate and; if deemed necessary by a physician, in-office appointments will be booked. Our staff is always available; Monday to Friday 9 am - 12 noon and 1 pm - 5 pm, to answer questions and book appointments. In case of an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest Emergency Department. Redvers, Kipling, Weyburn and Estevan's emergency departments are still open. On May 5, 2020 the Arcola Family Health Clinic was proud to celebrate the 10th year of operation under the stewardship of the Moose Mountain Health Care Corp. Thank you to the municipal governments that are a part of ensuring stable health care to the residents of our area by continuing to provide leadership and financial support. The participating municipalities of the Moose Mountain Health Care Corp. are: Town of Arcola, Town of Lampman, Town of Stoughton, R.M. Of Brock, ...R.M. Of Browning, R.M. Of Moose Creek, R.M. Of Moose Mountain and the R.M. Of Tecumseh. The foresight of this group more than a decade ago made this community owned clinic a reality and allowed us to celebrate this milestone. Our protocols to ensure your safety and the safety of our physicians and staff will remain in effect at this time. COVID-19 If you have traveled to an area affected by 2019 Novel Coronavirus within the last 14 days or have been in close contact with someone who has been ill with this virus you can call HealthLine 811 anytime to talk to a nurse and get advice about how you are feeling and what to do next. If you are leaving your home for medical care, call ahead and tell them you are coming in and that your are self-isolating due to risk of COVID-19.

The Arcola Family Health Clinic would like to encourage patients to come to their appointments a minimum of 15 minutes prior to their booked appointment time. Except in the case of an emergency, our Clinic strives to run on schedule at all times. Our physicians usually ask staff to take patients vitals before they see their patient. By ensuring you are there 15 minutes before your scheduled time, the staff has time to see you and put the information into your EMR (electronic medical record) and still get you in to see your physician on schedule. We know your time is valuable too!

The Arcola Family Health Clinic is accepting new patients that are in need of a family doctor. Having a regular family doctor is associated with greater continuity of care and improved health outcomes. Unfortunately, we have found that the service has not reduced the number of "no show" and therefore is not economically viable.... Our staff will make calls to remind patients of some appointments such as physicals, but remembering regular office visits will be the patients responsibility. Our no show policy of $35 for missed appointments will remain in place.

It is with sadness we will be saying goodbye to Dr. Ghaly this Friday, May 31st. We are thankful for the great care he provided to residents of this area over the last 3 years and wish him all the best in the future. We will be welcoming Dr. Yazdani to the Arcola Family Health Clinic. Dr. Yazdani will be spending this week shadowing Dr. Ghaly to become acquainted with the clinic and hospital.
