Fisherman’s Market has battened down the hatches in our operations by taking major precautionary measures in our food handling, as well as customer and staff interactions. We feel we have been at the lead of food stores throughout British Columbia and are much safer than many of the larger grocery stores. There is a list of implemented mandates on our website. We have constant lines of communication from the captain to the first mates to the deck bosses and right down to the greenhorns. This is important. Though we have somewhat reduced hours, we have given every staff member throughout all our stores a $2 an hour raise to help compensate for this. Our staff is is working. We intend to keep it that way. In the 17 years Geoff and I have owned and operated our stores; in the great communities of West Vancouver, Gibsons, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Nelson, we have never asked for help. We are now.
