I can't tell you how freeing it is when someone tells me about their amazing cleanse or detox and I no longer feel the need to do it too because I found what works. Hint: It doesn't include juicing celery, eating cabbage, cutting out carbs, taking a handful of supplements and herbs or drinking chalky shakes!

This International Women’s Day I am starting the celebration by highlighting the things I am most proud of myself for and I am going to invite you to do the same. This is not an act of vanity. It is what the world needs right now. The ripple effect that can happen from celebrating YOU can create MAGIC, my friend. So drop in the comments what you are freakin proud of yourself for! Looking in the mirror today, I see a woman who has boldly stepped into her purpose. ... She is choosing to do the hard work of letting go of what is expected and is challenging those thoughts by shifting the paradigm. She is no longer allowing the expectations of society’s beauty standards to affect how she feels about herself. She can see her beauty through the way she makes others smile. The way she dances to her own beat. The way she cares for others. The way she allows herself to feel the pain, the joy and everything in between. I am celebrating all the sisters who are with me on this journey

Things are going to start to look a little different here on my feed. Like many of you, 2020 came with numerous lessons. The one that I am really leaning into was the lesson of less force and more flow. This is showing up in all different areas of my life from choosing to post on IG when I feel inspired vs posting because I must to be recognized by the algorithm, to taking a break from house renos so we can enjoy the addition of our new puppy despite the fact we had a deadlin...e of when we wanted it finished, to listening to my gut and shifting my business in a different direction. I have a lot I want to say but for now, I just want to share that these last couple of weeks I have taken some scary but much-needed steps in my own personal healing journey so that I can fully embrace the flow state. And for those of you who are going to stay along for the ride, I thank you for being here.

I talk a lot about creating habits and daily rituals but here’s the thing, our healing journeys are not linear so we can’t expect our habits to be concrete. The habits that you have right now may not be the same a year from now. They might not even be the same in a few weeks from now. Changes are inevitable, so the process of developing habits needs to be met with compassion and permission to be flexible. Think of how freeing it is when you allow for the ebbs and flows to ha...ppen vs forcing yourself to do all the things all the time. If you are a chronic dieter or a recovering perfectionist, the idea of not doing it all perfectly can feel scary. It might even feel like you are losing control. But I invite you to ask yourself when has exercising extreme restriction resulted in lasting change? When I created Anchor, I kept all of this in mind. Even though I am guiding you in implementing new habits and essential oils, I highly encourage you to keep the rituals that feel right to you right now. As you go through the rhythm of life, you cycle through the habits that support you best at that time, without any attachment to having to do it all, all the time.

Why Anchor? We can often view rituals or habits as things that are stifling and constrictive. But our routines are what anchors us during times of change or chaos. Anchors keep us from floating into unchartered territories, while still allowing for some movement, and floating amongst the waves. The anchors of our life are what offer us refuge when we can barely keep our heads afloat. For me, my anchors are the little moments that steady me and bring me peace and rest. ... It’s the deep breathes I take when I feel my shoulders getting tense. It’s the ritual of putting Balance oil on the soles of my feet every morning as I set my intentions for the day. It’s sitting at the dinner table with Davin enjoying nourishing meals and nourishing conversations. It’s the drop of Copaiba in my skincare every evening as I massage away the stressors of the day. It’s the moment of gratitude just before my head hits the pillow. What are the anchors that steady you during the big waves? . . . . . #dailyrituals #selfcarerituals #calminthechaos #copingmechanisms #bekindtoyourmind #skincarerituals #healingrituals #myrituals #steadyenergy #movementpractice #bodyflow #movetogether #yegessentialoils #frankincense #essentialoiltips #lemonessentialoil #lavenderessentialoil #essentialoilsforthewin #essentialoilsforhealing #pureoils #essentialoilsforhealth #essentialoilsforlife #onlinenutrition #essentialoilsrecipes #selmprovement #habitchange #changeforthebetter #valueyourself #selfdevelopmentjourney #habitsofhealth

I'm not perfect but I'm the perfect example of someone doing the work with you. Being a holistic nutrition and lifestyle consultant, I think it can often give off the impression that I do it all right all the time and that's simply not the truth. I have my highs and lows just like anyone else. I struggle with some of my habits too like drinking enough water, reducing screentime and not eating while working. Some days all of these things come to me with ease and others I rea...lly have to put my own coaching skills to work. These are some of the things I have found helpful when I feel like I am straying from the habits that make me feel my best: 1. Reflect: I like to pause and reflect on what's really going on. Do I have too much on my schedule? Do I have some emotional stress that needs to be processed? What is in my power to change right now? 2. Mindset: I remind myself that I do these habits to cultivate a feeling not because I want to look a certain way or because someone else says it's what I should be doing. 3. Compassion: My natural tendency is to resort to being hard on myself when I am not doing what I think I should be but that never equates to lasting change. So instead I make an effort to show myself compassion. What is one thing I can do today that will invoke the feeling I want to feel more of and do it from a place of love? 4. Anchor: This is when I really lean on my essential oils. For years they have become my anchor. I will open my drawer and pull out something that will support the habit I want to implement. For example, if it's wanting to stop eating at my desk while working, I will grab my Zengest oil and place it next to my computer. When I am hungry, I will see that oil and it will remind me to put a drop in the palm of my hand, rub over my belly and breathe for a moment, assessing what I can do to best nourish my body at that moment. 5. Celebrate: I might have only been able to implement one small healthy habit on the tough days but I still celebrate those little wins, no matter what. Save this post for the next time you feel like you can use some extra support on those tough days.

They remind me of one of my favourite holiday treats that my mamma would put inside my stocking every year, Terry's Chocolate Orange. Want the recipe? Sign up for my email list and it will land in your inbox tomorrow. link in comments ... PS...I have a pretty exciting announcement that I'll be sharing soon but my email list will be first to know!
