Neighbours at the building are planning something fun!
Actors, authors, singers and songwriters are just a few of the voices you can catch on March 21st! "In 1999, the non-profit Peace One Day established an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence, fixed as 21 September, on the UN International Day of Peace - Peace Day. Since then Peace One Day has worked to manifest awareness and action on the Day, resulting in a large-scale decrease of violence. It is clear that there can be no peace without a culture of anti-racism. Peace One Day’s experience with Peace Day has led to this joint venture with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights: Anti-Racism Live Global Digital Experience, 21 March, the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination."

In our thank yous to essential workers we may have missed a few...like EMS and Teachers!! The President of the Alberta Teachers Association says it well: Friends, families, colleagues, parents, students and all Albertansthis has been a fall like no other in the history of our province. You faced a seemingly insurmountable challenge and you were provided by this government with inadequate protection and support for it. As a result of your dedication, determination and unwave...ring commitment, we have made it this far, and these words of gratitude represent just a small fraction of the appreciation owed to you. I must also mention the health care workers on the front lines of this crisis. We see you; we love you; we appreciate all that you are doing, and we are trying to control COVID spread in order to make your jobs and lives safer and easier. Thank you all. I know this holiday break will not be normal and it will not be easy. But I hope that it is at least restful. You deserve it. https://www.teachers.ab.ca//ATA-President-Responds-to-Prem

Did you know that Habitat has Jaspers smallest giftshop! We have some books from a past visit by Alberta authors! This might interest your young reader? "Ockleberries to the Rescue Children’s chapter book... (contact us for delivery!) Tansy and Crispin help all the forest animals, with their ailments or injuries, no matter how big or how small. The healing potions and practices they use were handed down generation to generation. Living in a home built within the roots of a magnificent oak tree, the two sprites and their animal helpers, remain hidden from human eyes. Crispin wishes to find a long ago lost cave filled with ancient healing books and potion recipes. No matter where he travels in the forest he searches for it. Always hoping Will he find it? What is the story behind the cave? When humans come into the forest what happens? Follow the adventures of Tansy and Crispin and meet their forest animal companions. "
