Did you know that learning ASL is beneficial in so many ways including communicating with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (HOH)? Apraxia of Speech - a motor speech disorder affecting messages from the brain to the mouth Down Syndrome - a genetic condition causing some developmental delays and varied levels of learning difficulty.... Aphasia a common speech disorder is a condition sn individual is unable to speak due to a brain injury or stroke. Sign language can be a communication aid for people with aphashia. Seniors - in using ASL signs (not necessarily full ASL structure) you can often give seniors backed the gift of communication and aid them in telling you and others what they want and when they want it. Children - non-verbal children eith conditions such as autism, trauma, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other speech and brain disorders are often a large segment of those using Sign Language. It is also a tool for language development for those who may otherwise be short of language and patience and expressing themselves. Deaf/HOH Clearly we can't ignore the obvious which is why sign language as a whole is so amazing. sign language all over the world is an important communication tool for many hard of hearing and deaf people. It's the native language of the deaf community that provides full access to communication. There are others who can hear but can't speak that also use sign language. There are several other reasons to sign including that it is a language just as Spanish, French or any other language. For more information please visit the link in our #bio. See more

Did you know that more than 90% of Deaf children are born to Hearing parents? "This workshop is specifically geared towards families with Deaf or Hard of Hearing children from birth to early elementary school ages, but we welcome any families that would like to learn more about how to expose, educate, embrace and elevate their deaf/hard of hearing child!"
