Stress wearing you down? It could be wearing your teeth down, too. Teeth grinding, over-indulging and poor sleep take a toll. Exercising for 30 minutes a day while maintaining social distancing, eating a healthy diet, and regularly brushing and flossing all can help reduce stress and prevent an emergency trip to the dentist. When fishermen cant go to sea, they mend their nets. During storms and generally days where theres no point even putting the boat in the water it does not mean progress cannot be made. They use the time to focus on net mending and resting." This quote reaffirms that there is always something we can be doing. Think of this period in a positive way so that we can plan and improve our lives so that when it passes, you can be ready to hit the ground running. Consider the f...ollowing: Learn new things: Go online, check out tutorials on things that interest you. Now is a great time to perhaps learn that thing that you could never find time for. Develop a new skill, start learning a new language. Clean: Declutter and organize your home and your private and your workspace, clear your mind. Make New Friends: Reach out to people who will inspire you and not scare you. Try having group chats with your friends to keep your spirits high. Build your libraries: Catch up on books or register at audible.ca. Keep Healthy: It is easy to fall into the trap of overindulging, eating unhealthy food and lack of physical activities in times like this. Eat well, rest well, exercise and yes dont forget to brush and floss regularly! Relax: Take a walk, take a nap, paint, meditate, listen to music. Pay attention to the activities that feed your soul. Spend time with your family. In times of constant negative messaging, we all need an antidote so that we can keep positive attitudes and march forward with determination and hope. Be deliberate in activities that are positive, heartwarming, stress reducing and laughter inducing! Together, we will get through this. Sincerely, Your friends at Aspen Springs Dental Centre

We hope you are continuing to be healthy and safe during this unprecedented and difficult time. At times like this we feel blessed that we live in a country that is able to take some solid steps to minimize the spread of the disease and to reduce the financial burden on all of us. We would like to share some of these measures that Ottawa has released as their stimulus package to help us navigate this difficult time. Some highlights of this $82 billion economic stimulus packag...e (as of March 18th) are as follow: Canada Mortgage and Housing Corp. says it is permitting lenders to allow deferred mortgage payments on loans the Crown corporation guarantees. (This is the insurance against default lenders take when people who purchase homes have less than 20% down). An emergency care benefit for workers who dont qualify for employment insurance to help with food and rent. Credit available to farmers and the agri-food sector will be boosted through Farm Credit Canada. The government is also placing a six-month moratorium on student loan payments. The Ontario government has confirmed they will not allow for evictions during this time should people not be able to pay their rent. Families receiving the Child Care Benefit will see an increase of $550 on average, with an additional $300 per child as part of the May payment. For renters, an emergency aid package includes $27-billion in direct support to help pay for things like rent or grocery bills. For parents who have lost daycare services, government will introduce the emergency care benefit which will provide money every two weeks to workers who have to stay home for 14 weeks for an amount comparable to the amount that would be paid through EI. The deadline for filing T1 returns that were due on April 30, 2020 has been extended to June 1, 2020. Stay safe! We are all in it together and together we will get through this!
