With the Assiniboine Valley Railway and the Prairie Dog Central Railway suspending operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the only train ride available is the... Assiniboine Park Steam Train. Unfortunately, ridership on this authentic stream train is way down, and they need your help! They need at least 12 passengers per ride to break even, so why not go down to the park and take a ride? They're open from noon to six every day, and a ride costs only $3.25. To book a ride, please call 204-831-0197 and leave a message. If you do not receive a call back on the same day, then that means that the train is not running that day. See more

Coming soon to a shirt near you! To celebrate the 65th anniversary of the club's founding in 1955, the WMRC has issued a new logo. It was designed by WMRC socia...l media director and blog editor Paul Ullrich, who has won five awards for his artwork. Vice president Ian Plett, who spearheaded the project, is having the logos printed on shirts which will be available for sale in the near future. See more

There's no better way to start the New Year than taking a ride on the Assiniboine Valley Railway this weekend! This is the last chance you'll get to ride on th...e AVR until June! They're open from 2PM to 5PM on both Saturday, January 4 and Sunday, January 5. A ride is only three bucks, and you can get two rides for $5.00. A ten ride pass is only $20, and kids under two years of age ride for free! The AVR is located at 3001 Roblin Boulevard, just west of Assiniboine Park. See more

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - 2019 December 1 The Assiniboine Valley Railway, Inc., 3001 Roblin Blvd, just west of Assiniboine Park, will again be holding 3 daytime Christmas Public Ride Weekends: 2:00 - 5:00 pm... Saturday & Sunday, December 21 & 22, December 28 & 29 & January 4 & 5 Rides are $3, 2 for $5, & a 10 Ride Pass is $20. Kids 2 & under ride free. Hot chocolate is for sale! Unfortunately, the fantastic Taylor Family Christmas Light Display is still not possible, but we have a modest, but increasing, number of lights up... Donations of LED lights & all types & lengths of extension cords are truly appreciated! We hope you will come out to support the AVR and enjoy a ride on our 1/8th scale railway through the scenic, snowy winter landscape! We are a non-profit club run by volunteers.
