Aid for El Salvador continues with Help of Seniorlink Volunteers

A friendly reminder for all the family caregivers!

SeniorLink and GEMS volunteers filled the first container heading to El Salvador. We are still helping these organizations out by collecting donations. The second container is likely leaving July 21st! Please call 604-271-4427 for pick-up or bring items to our Angels There For You office: 104 7831 Steveston Hwy, Richmond (corner of Steveston Hwy and No. 3 Road). Families need Shampoo, Soap, toothbrushes, masks, gloves, hand sanitizer (ensure expiration dates are at least 6 ...months from now), Raincoats, Boots, Children’s footwear, Backpacks Art and School Supplies, Kitchenware, Plates, Cutlery, Tarps, Rope, Fabric, Sewing machine, Housing and building materials. (We have no more need for bedding, clothing, blankets, bikes, Toys & stuffed animals as we are overwhelmed with these already). The first shipping container is leaving on July 7th and the second will leave July 14th (Update: the second container will be leaving July 21st). See more

Our donation drive continues for those effected by Tropical Storm Amanda in El Salvador. Here Indridi from GEMS is moving some of our household donations around to maximize space in their warehouse space. The first container leave this Tuesday, the second will leave Tuesday July 14th. Get in touch to donate household goods! You can also donate to our fundraising for Comandos below. We are raising $25,000 and have already raised $8000. Angels There For You is teaming up with Senior Link to raise money for Covid-19 and Storm Amanda relief for families and seniors in El Salvador. Our own Patricia Cruz came to Canada as a refugee from El Salvador during the early 80's. She has a heart for the vulnerable and displaced communities of that country. Hence, our involvement in bringing this fundraising to a reality and its goal. Senior Link is aiming to raise $25,000 towards relief funds to contribute to Comandos d...e Salvacion which is a emergency relief organization in El Salvador. Donations can be made to the Senior Link site here: https://seniorlink.ca/covid-19/ In addition we will be coordinating the transportation of a container of household goods and supplies heading to El Salvador with the collaboration of Global Emergency Missions Society (GEMS) https://gemscanada.ca/. The container will be stationed at Langley with GEMS but you can drop off donation at Salvation Army Church on Gilbert Road, at our office in Richmond and Langley, BC up until July 14th. Let us protect our Elders today and always

We have the privilege of serving Langley and its surrounding community and are saddened by the effect of the pandemic on one our neighbours Langley Lodge. This week we had the privilege to connect with their team and delivered gifts and flowers to their care team, workers and residents. We thank them for their hard work and hope this small gesture encourages their team and their residents!

We hope that you and your families are keeping safe. In light of the Covid-19 situation we are taking the greatest precautions. From our family to yours, stay safe and wash those hands often.
