THIS saved my life 2 weeks ago. Biventricular pacemaker This device typically consists of three leads. A right atrial, right ventricular, and coronary sinus lead across the left ventricle. ... CRT therapy is beneficial for those with advanced heart failure. When the QRS gets prolonged we start to see dyssynchrony between the left and right ventricles. This device allows for simultaneous pacing of the chambers to allow for a more efficient cardiac cycle. Most times the right ventricular lead will be a shocking lead as we know that patients with advanced heart failure are at a higher risk for deadly arrhythmias. This is your brain experiencing a concussion It may look like this model brain is made of Jell-O, but it’s the same#consistencyas a real brain. As Dr. Christopher Giza from UCLA demonstrates, the brain is made of soft tissue and floats in fluid inside of the skull. When the skull moves quickly, the brain can jostle around a lot, which can lead to neurological symptoms. Most#concussionsare recoverable, Giza said.... But concussions can be difficult to identify and some people suffer more serious symptoms,#particularlyafter multiple concussions. Lab studies have shown a window of#vulnerability after a first concussion, Giza said. Concussed athletes are three to six times more likely to get another concussion. If they rush back to play, their#reflexes, reaction time and thinking may be slower, putting them at risk of a second concussion and longer recovery period. #health#medical#concussion #injury #athlete #head #headinjury #brain #brainhealth

The scale is going to fluctuateand you’re not always going to know why. It goes up and down. Playing the game of figuring out why may be a temptation, sometimes you’ll know, sometimes you’ll guess wrong, and sometimes you’ll guess right. In the end, it doesn’t really matter.... Sometimes you pee 3 times in a day and don’t go number 2. Sometimes you go 5 and 2. Sometimes you get stressed. In all kinds of ways, some of which you won’t even be aware of, like sudden weather changes, you’re about to get sick, or you didn’t realize that gash or bruise on your leg demands more water for normal swelling then healing. Pickles. 0 calories. Tons of salt -> water retention. Eating at different times. Constipation, etc. Maybe you ate a huge huge meal yesterday for all the right reasons. Need more? This is a complicated equation, but here’s the deal. If you weigh yourself daily - I do this with some clients - and you think: Scale went down 2 pounds today = 2 pounds of success Scale went up 2 pounds tomorrow = 2 pounds of failure Scale down 1 pound next day = 1 pound of success. You’re gonna drive yourself insane. Even if you’re truly overweight, and the scale going down is truly really important, it’s still gonna make you think you’re failing when you’re succeeding on many days. You don’t need that no matter who you are. But contrary to what many will say, tracking the scale is useful. If you want to know if you’re in a deficit, you wanna know if it’s going down. If you wanna know if you’re losing fat and adding muscle, your weight staying the same while waist going down is a good indicator. So how do you take your mind on this? Value sticking to the plan to get the weight off and being the person that will lose the weight and keep it off. Do that and it will. But try not to get caught up with the scale even if you are tracking it daily. . #weightloss #weightlossjourney #bodyfitness #motivation #gym #healthy #health #knowlton #lacbrome #wearamask

MEDICAL : How To Spot Signs And Symptoms Of Breast Cancer Perhaps the most recognized symptom of breast cancer is a lump or mass in the breast tissue. While many women go to the doctor after finding a lump, every woman should also be aware of other changes to the breast or nipple. With the different types of breast cancer come a variety of related symptoms. For example, invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC), which forms in the milk ducts, may cause a distinct breast lump that you ...can feel. Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC), which forms in milk-producing glands, may cause a thickening in the breast. Early warning signs of breast cancer Symptoms of breast tumors vary from person to person. Some common, early warning signs of breast cancer include: Skin changes, such as swelling, redness, or other visible differences in one or both breasts An increase in size or change in shape of the breast(s) Changes in the appearance of one or both nipples Nipple discharge other than breast milk General pain in/on any part of the breast Lumps or nodes felt on or inside of the breast Symptoms more specific to invasive breast cancer are: Irritated or itchy breasts Change in breast color Increase in breast size or shape (over a short period of time) Changes in touch (may feel hard, tender or warm) Peeling or flaking of the nipple skin A breast lump or thickening Redness or pitting of the breast skin (like the skin of an orange) It's important to remember that other, benign conditions may have caused these changes. For example, changes to the skin texture on the breast may be caused by a skin condition like eczema, and swollen lymph nodes may be caused by an infection in the breast or another, unrelated illness. Seeing a doctor for an evaluation will help you determine whether something you notice is cause for concern. #medical #health #woman #womenshealth #symptoms #cancer #breast #breastcancerawareness #breastcancer #information #nipples #exam #education #gym #knowlton #lacbrome

The heartbeat happens as follows: The SA node (called the pacemaker of the heart) sends out an electrical impulse. The upper heart chambers (atria) contract.... The AV node sends an impulse into the ventricles. The lower heart chambers (ventricles) contract or pump. The SA node sends another signal to the atria to contract, which starts the cycle over again. This cycle of an electrical signal followed by a contraction is one heartbeat. . . . . . . . #heartpumping #heartbeat #heartrythm #heartcare #healthyheart #healthyhearts #cardio #heart #muscle #howitworks #gym #knowlton #lacbrome

A client asks me today which nerve controls breathing, great question ! Now you know ... The phrenic nerve is a nerve that originates in the#neck(C3C5) and passes down between the lung and heart to reach the#diaphragm. The#phrenicnerve is important for breathing, as it passes motor information to the diaphragm and receives sensory information from it. .... . . . #anatomy #nerves #phrenicnerve #gym #knowlton #lacbrome #personaltrainer #student See more
