SHUGGIE BAIN by Douglas Gibson has won this year's Booker Prize! Earlier this afternoon Montreal time, the Booker judges made the announcement online with palpable excitement and emotion. Today is Margaret Atwood's birthday! We're celebrating her tremendous literary output as well as her generosity to libraries and many other important causes. We have fond memories of her visit to the Atwater Library four years ago, when she gave a presentation on "Hag-Seed" and had a fun chat with her old friend Peter Pearson. Terry Mosher has been a phenomenal supporter of the Atwater Library. For many years, he's donated autographed prints of his best Aislin cartoons for our fundraising events. This fall, our online auction featured 20 of the best Aislins of 2020. Two were about US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. Hockey great Bob Gainey bid on those two cartoons....
