If you have a security system and it communicates through your phone land line, BE AWARE that phone companies can disconnect your system from the land line when servicing your phone while they are on site. I have had many clients complain that they were not aware that their phone company serviceman had disconnected their security panel and then left. This means you ARE NOT MONITORED AT THIS POINT unless you have a backup communication such as a cellular or IP communicator.

Please be aware that when purchasing a security system, your contract states that you OWN your equipment after the contract term. And please make sure you get your INSTALLER CODE for your system. This will allow you to go with another provider if you ever decide to leave your current provider. I get so many clients that have to purchase a new panel and sometimes keypad too because their system is locked out. Always be forearmed!

Well this is bunk! First of all we work hard to ensure every single one of our clients are set up properly so that false alarms do NOT happen. And with interactive security, it’s pretty hard to even get out a false alarm. The problem exists with security technicians that aren’t trained well and companies that don’t follow the CANASA guidelines! Our clients shouldn’t be penalized for sloppy alarm company workmanship!!! Neither should their clients. Actually, I think if an alarm company has more clients with false alarms, they should have to answer for it; is it the client? The alarm installer? Or the monitoring station? And yes, on occasion it’s also EPS!

Hey friends. I’ve been hearing more news about break ins where thieves are breaking into homes with unlocked doors, stealing the keys while the homeowner is asleep and stealing their vehicle. Please be safe and lock your doors and windows. For any safety ideas, just comment and I will try to give you some tips to help make you more safe. And remember, if you see something that doesn’t look right, let your neighbours and police know. We have great senses for a reason. Don’t be afraid to use them.
