What an incredible moment in history for our province. The first female elected Mayor for the City of Regina! Not only does Saskatchewan have the highest rate of Intimate Partner Violence of all Canadian provinces, but this number continues to rise. As a society we need to understand and recognize the need for second stage homes where women and children, that are navigating their recovery following an abusive relationship, can be supported. We need to recognize the problem, address it and work to reverse these statistics.
