Beginning this Friday, July 24, masks are mandatory on public transit in Nova Scotia, with exemptions for children under two and those with a valid medical rea...son. Chief medical officer of health Dr. Robert Strang clarified that shields are not compliant with this directive. He also acknowledged that anxiety can make wearing a mask difficult, and encouraged those who have this experience to practice techniques to overcome the anxiety. Here, from the Sexual Assault Centre of Brant, adapted from Survivor Trust UK resources, are some tips for survivors who find wearing masks challenging. Repost @sac_brant Covering your face can be a triggering experience for survivors. As of today bylaws are now being enforced in both Brantford and Brant County that require face coverings in all public indoor spaces. This resource has been adapted for a Brantford-Brant context from content by the Survivor Trust UK. [access text Tips for survivors who find wearing masks challenging.
