In an effort to support local Saskatchewan artists, we are launching a marketing campaign to build awareness of Bandcamp Friday (where 100% of proceeds go to th...e artist), spotlight Saskatchewan artists and we plan on redirecting our advertising dollars back to the artists, driving home #supportlocal. Instead of spending money on social media advertising, we have opted to put that money back into the pockets of homegrown artists. We not only have a soft spot for Saskatchewan music but also have an organizational mandate to include at least 50% Saskatchewan talent at our festival. The first Monday of every month, we have selected a different Saskatchewan artist to feature and support by purchasing music and merch to give away to a lucky follower! Winners will be selected at random and announced the first Friday of each month, to coincide with Bandcamp Friday. Since March 2020, Bandcamp has waived their revenue share on the first Friday of every month to help support the many artists who have seen their livelihoods disrupted by the pandemic. In 2020, Bandcamp Friday put more than $40 million dollars directly into the pockets of artists. Our WIN LOCAL giveaways will take place on February 1st, March 1st, March 29th, and May 3rd on both our Facebook and Instagram accounts. There will be a different prize on each platform from a different Saskatchewan artist. So keep your eyes peeled for our giveaway posts for your chance to win some music and merch from Saskatchewan artists and as always, #supportlocal!
